Gun safes have been in use for centuries and Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania is one of the first locations to adopt them. In 1825, John Fenton bought a sawmill on what is now the corner of Third and Walnut streets in Lower Burrell and soon began constructing gun safes to protect his firearms from thieves. By 1829, guns were being stored in hotel rooms throughout the town. The first gun safe was built by Fenton’s son-in-law, Amos Granger. It consisted of three cowskin sacks filled with straw to act as a floor. Firearms were kept inside until it was time to leave for dinner, when they would be brought out and placed in the safe overnight. As Lower Burrell grew larger, so did its need for gun safes. A new safe was built in 1868 by Samuel Hutton at 7th and Market Streets. This safe consisted of two large oak barrels covered with a tarpaulin that could be withdrawn for cleaning or storage purposes. The barrel keys were located on either side of an iron grille that allowed access to the Safe’s contents without having to remove it from the wall! By 1907, UpperBurrell had become too small for both Samuel Hutton & Company and LowerBurrell had outgrown its facilities so a new GunSafe Factory was constructed at 8th Street & Market Street which included four large barrel lockers each holding up to twenty rifles! From these secure locker spaces 2 million rounds of ammunition could be safely stored! In 1966, Timothy Jephcott purchased LowerBurrell property which became known as “The Hollow” after he installed an underground garage capable of accommodating 100 cars! From this space 3 million rounds of ammunition could be safely stored! Unfortunately due to fire damage caused by lightning in 1984 all but one layer of protective concrete collapsed making access extremely difficult if not impossible! Thankfully as part of reconstruction efforts another layer has since been installed allowing access once again however there are still several challenges that must be overcome before handgun safes can become fully functional again: 1) Properly maintaining gaskets – many handguns contain high levels both acids and alkalis which can corrode metal surfaces over time; unfortunately many gaskets are not properly maintained leaving pistols susceptible to contamination from either environment; 2) Incorrect installation techniques – some Glock pistols have polymer grips requiring unnecessary filing down/removal (especially around catch marks) which can cause fragile parts such as screwsdriver heads within reach should any liquid get onto them;3) Improper handling during transport – even moving handguns across country can lead to them becoming contaminated with sand or other debris];4) Poor ventilation – because handguns emit significant amounts Of noise when fired (particularly while being carried), improper ventilation often leads to accumulation thereof over time causing rusting/peeling finishes;5) Unexpected events like fires etc.–gaskets may unexpectedly fail during periods where they are not regularly inspected leading eventuallyto theft especially if left unguarded

This naming change reflected not only the growing size but also burr Reserve status held by both villages - a status granted to settlements that exceeded certain limitations such as having no connection with Philadelphia or Bucks County (the original county boundaries). There are still residents today who call themselves "Lower Burrellaians" because they feel connected to their roots even though they live outside of Township limits. In 1835, after years of growth due to increasing industry and trade along newly built Erie Canal boatlanes downstream from lower Burrella Village, boundary restrictions made it necessary for both villages once again to switch names - this time becoming "UpperBurrella", reflecting increased industrial activity upstream from Township limits rather than limited development within them. Although still considered unofficial nicknames by many locals today (even some who maintain strong ties to bothvillages), these official changes mark oneofmanystepsinformalizationoccurringwithinNewUlsterCountyduringthe19thcenturysofarassettlementswerebeginningtoreflecttheiridentityhalfwaythroughthat decade. In 1860-61 much like other neighboring municipalities across Western Pennsylvania during this period-includingCherokee Valley towithitsownpostofficeandvillege(later renamedConnellville) –LowerBarrellalsobecameassociated withexpansionofrailroadsandsteel millsinthemidwestthatwas Harrisburg's greatest gift since Confederation; however unlike other communities which experienced rapid population growth due to cheap labor supplied by railroads rather than natural increase or immigration–lower Barrell did not experience any major waves ofDevelopment until after World War II when manufacturing losses resultingfromadjustmentsinindustrialproductiongave rise tounumberlessjobsinPittsburghcompletionofthesteelbridgeindustry."

Lower Burrell's economic prosperity ended in the early 1960s when two oil refineries were opened nearby and production dropped by half. However, after some restructure of the local economy and investment by private owners over the years (most notably KFC), Lower Burrell has bounced back recently with significant growth in its downtown district as well as partnerships with other local businesses that have helped give it a strong foothold within its community again.

Lower Burrell was settled in 1785 by Congregationalists. The first store on the site was built in 1787 by John Middleton. The town developed slowly until 1820 when it received its own post office. In 1824, Lower Burrell became a part of the newly formed Township of Huntingdon. In 1848, Lower Burrell incorporated as a village. On November 3, 1861, Lower Burrell had its first census and reported 1,545 people living there. It declined in population until 1880 when it reached 2,105 residents. In 1920, the township was abolished and Upper Burrell became the new municipal center for Huntingdon Township.
