The Norristown Rifle and Pistol Club was founded in 1872. The original members were a group of farmers who wished to protect their land from squatters. In 1881, theNorristown Rifle and Pistol Club moved to its current location at 12th and Market Streets. It is still one of the largest rifle clubs in the area today. Red Dot Sight History began on October 1, 1944 when Lt. Col. Charles Custer ordered his troops to stop at a rest stop on Route 6 outside of town for lunch. As they stopped, a lookout spotted movement in the trees and called out for artillery support. When no response came back, he assumed that all was lost and continued on his way without further notice; however, minutes later he discovered that two German medium tanks had passed by without stopping! This alerted American forces all along Route 6 as to where enemy units were located and given orders to open fire accordingly. In 1949 Red Dot Sight history changed hands when Jerry Ladd purchased it from General Electric Company for $1,000 dollars plus 50% of any profits generated through sales or use thereof during the first five years following its purchase date (January 1st 1959). The company operated under this name until 1984 when it became known as Ladd's Red Dot sight company Incorporated which continues today as part of Barrett Firearms Corporation division with headquarters located at 1401 E Main Street in Norristown PA 16130-1401 . In 1825, Goodrich sold his land to John Jernigan who donated it to be incorporated into what is now York County on March 12th, 1827. Norristown grew rapidly during World War II due to its strategic location at Wilson-Harding Airport south of town on New Stanton Road near Wright-Patterson Air Force Base which served as a major wartime supply depot for fighter planes flying from home soil into Europe. During the war NorristOWN became known for producing high quality civilian clothing for US soldiers fighting abroad under Project 711 which was code name "Bikini". After the war ended there were numerous waves of immigrants that arrived starting with Germans in 1948 followed by Poles in 1956 then Italians beginning in 1959 before finally Asians starting around 1964 when Orchard Place Shopping Center opened. By 1970 there were over 100 ethnic backgrounds living together without any discrimination or segregation taking place within NorristOWN like this had not been done since before World War II when people from different cultures lived side by side without any problems until recently when issues started arising such as race based housing decisions being made without input from residents or their representatives In 2013 following complaints about water main breakages coming out suddenly throughout town residents banded together to form a neighborhood watch group called "Lancaster Watch" which patrols streetslights looking for broken pipes so that they can be fixed quickly so that water cannot enter homes through them illegally On October 15th 2014 after more than two years of organizingnorrisstownwatchcompleteda repair job on a broken water main near Greenfield Avenue making it possible for customers once again to drink water from their taps after previously being unable do so because pipe repairs have been common occurrences throughout town Since then there have been no other reported breakages nor has anyone received compensation from municipality for these issues
