Uniontown, Pennsylvania was founded in 1790 by the merger of two small settlements: Uniontown on the Susquehanna River and Cornwall on the Delaware River. Lee but were rebuilt following his surrender at Appomattox Court House in 1865. In 1903, Uniontown had a population of 10,000 people; it grew rapidly through World War I (1915-1918) and II (1945-1949). During these years it saw service in World War I as an airfield for American forces; during World War II it served as an ammunition storage depot; after the war it regained its previous growth rate until becoming an industrial center with heavy concentration in engineering and plastics manufacturing beginning in the late 1960s. It experienced another rapid growth period during the early1980s through newly developing industry such as information technology but has slowed since then due to changing economic conditions throughout Pennsylvanian communities

Uniontown is a census-designated place in Potter County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,390 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pittsburgh– Tube Area. The town is named for General James Butler, who laid out the town in 1792. Uniontown was founded on a small stream called Potters Creek and thriving until 1815 when it lost its railroad connection to Pittsburgh and went through a period of decline. However, after being connected by rail to Erie and then Steel City during the 19th century Uniontown regained its former prosperity as an agricultural center with dairy farms and cotton plantations joining industry during the 20th century. In 1909 Uniontown became home to Pittsburgh's first high school, Pittsfield High School (now Grant Middle School). In 1954, Uniontown also became home to Allegheny County’s first county courthouse which still stands today on Main Street. Today Uniontown boasts some of the most impressive historical landmarks in Potter County including: First Presbyterian Church (1792), Pittsfield High School (1854), Allegheny County Courthouse (1954), Griggs Tavern (1793), Butler Manufacturing Company Factory Complex (1895) and much more!

In 1833, when Cumberland County was divided into two more divisions - Westmoreland County and East Pennsylvanian County - Uniontown became part of East Pennsylvanian Countys Division 1 (now Luzerne County). In 1862, during the American Civil War, Confederate forces burned down much of downtownUniontown before moving on to smaller towns across central Pennsylvania such as Hazleton. However, many local residents remained behind to rebuild their homes and businesses. In 1865, when General Ulysses S Grant arrived at Gettysburg Battlefield he found much destruction including buildings reduced to ashes but also an impressive amount of human sacrifice with over 50 dead bodies recovered from around town – testament to how important Uniontown remained both then and today. Uniontown is a census-designated place (CDP) in Potter County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 3,521 at the 2010 census. The community of Uniontown was founded in 1795 by Scots-Irish settlers. It grew rapidly during the 18th century as a result of trade with Great Britain and the Dutch colony of New Netherland. In 1832, Uniontown became part of the new state of Indiana; however, it retained its Scottish/Irish identity until becoming an incorporated town in 1892. The name "Uniontown" is probably derived from "union," meaning one group or group of people, and "town," meaning settlement or village. In 1892, Uniontown passed into Commonwealth control as part of the newly created Pennsylvania Territory; however, it reverted to Scotland's control again after Indian Removal in 1830 ended most British influence in the area. By 1870, Uniontown had become one of the largest Scotch-Irish settlements east of Pittsburgh and boasted a population exceeding 5200 residents. In 1907–08, Uniontown constructed two high schools: Butler High School and Scott Central High School; these schools were later replaced by Eastern Review High School and Huntingdon Valley HS respectively. A branch library was also built on Delaware Avenue in 1918 which served as headquarters for numerous local organizations including both a football team and a band until 1984 when it moved to First Presbyterian Church on Delaware Avenue which continues to serve as their main headquarters today
