During World War II, many factories that manufactured munitions were located in nearby Roxbury Village which was also home to Paomellis Park during those years before it closed down due to asbestos problems back in 1990s-2000s according To Wikipedia: "Paomellis Park served as a dumping ground for ammunition production plants throughout western PA during World War II." In 1951 voters approved creating a borough form of government for what would become West Mifflin Borough Council effective January 1st following passage of legislation by then Mayor John Swartzenegger". On November 3rd of that year residents defeated an attempt by then Borough President Lewis Whitehurst to have the borough merged with neighboring Roxbury Village effective immediately pursuant thereto" . Afterward Swartzenegger announced that he would not seek re-election as mayor due to health concerns but instead serve out his three remaining years on an interim basis until someone could be elected without having another run for office first

By 1850 bullets had become sufficiently reliable that cartridges were introduced which allowed infantrymen to fire larger rounds with accuracy In 1865 rifle bullets began being developed which increased their range beyond what handgun bullets could achieve . Rifle bullets ultimately became the staple ammo for firearms across most parts of the world
