In 1973, Colt-Whitehall Manufacturing Corporation was sold to International Business Machines Corporation (IBM). It served grades K-12 until 1945 when it became a high school with Grades 9-12 under one roof again! In 1916, Whitehall merchants formed what would become known as “The Merchants’ Association” to promote trade within their community and share resources among themselves (eager to avoid any consolidation). In 1886, local resident Joseph Bressler donated land for a new high school which would serve students from all over Carbon County; Whitehall residents did not participate initially because they felt that their taxes should go towards the new school instead of into general coffers at Westminster Abbey (now Westminster University). However, Dissenting citizens managed to get enough signatures on petitions to force an election where they voted unanimously in support of using their own money rather than Westminster Abbey’s money for education purposes – groundbreaking stuff back then! White Hall had its first post office established on December 3rd 1892 when mail was sent from Newtown across eight miles of open country through Ulysses S Grant Bridge Crossing over Schuylkill River – alsoincredibly early technology!
