The first settler in Yeadon was George Stephenson. He built a sawmill and gristmill on the river in 1792. In 1814, he founded the village of Coal Hill and named it after his coal mine near Manchester, England. In 1838, John Fenton founded the town of Hazleton and named it after his home town of Hazleton, Pennsylvania (now Hazleton Township). In 1846, Isaac Miller established the village of Allentown and named it after himself (Allentown Incorporated). In 1854-5, Gurdon Stephens donated land to form Yeadon Township. The first post office was established in 1855 with Wm Atherton as mail carrier; later changed to Yeadon post office. On October 16th 1870, David Mills erected a red brick courthouse which still stands today on Main Street in Yeadon township center - one of only three remaining buildings from that era in Berks County! On November 30th 1880 residents voted by referendum to secede from Berks County and form their own independent country called "Pennsylvania". The vote was effective December 3rd 1880; Pennsylvania became an independent country with its own Constitution/laws & government! Today there are no businesses or residences left standing from when Pennsylvanian's split into two nations!

Yeadon is a small town in theLehigh Valley region of Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 5,815 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Allentown-Weinberg-Easton, PA Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area now comprising Yeadon was first settled by English colonists in 1681 and designated as "New Salem" on October 11, 1681. In 1764, George Washington purchased 1/4 acre (0.18 km²) of land from Hugh Mercer for $5 worth of goods only to sell it three years later to John Dickinson for $8 worth of goods and services including woodcutting and farming tools. On December 12, 1798, Yeadon's first physician Drury died in office after a long career serving the town with distinction during which he had been elected president of Lehigh County Medical Society in 1801 and 1805; he also served as an Alderman from 1811 until his death in 1824. This event is commemorated by a plaque located at Fourth Street and Northumberland Avenue within the boundaries of the current community center complex housing several businesses and two high schools – Wexford High School (now Easton Area Senior High School) and Yorktown Middle School – built on what was then known as Third Street between First Avenue and Northumberland Avenue. Adjacent communities that developed around Yeadon include West Allis (founded 1851), East Allis (founded 1865), Unadilla (founded 1889), South Unadilla (founded 1899), Bethlehem Township ( founded 1800), White Haven Township ( founded 1918), Springettsbury Township ( founded 1896). These municipalities have all lost their populations or annexed by larger settlements over time: West Allis has declined markedly since its heyday as an agricultural center while East Allis has become a largely suburban community; Unadilla no longer contains anyvillages but serves as commercial corridor for neighboring towns; Bethlehem Township has seen some modest growth over time but no real annexation or population increase; White Haven township has experienced steady population growth throughout its history despite occasional declines due to migration away from rural areas into more urban settings; Springettsbury township has experienced relatively little change overall but recent annexations by neighboring towns have led to significant changes within its borders.
The town of Yeadon, Pennsylvania was founded in 1799 by the brothers John and Edward Yeadon. The first settler in what is now Yeadon was Isaac Smith. The community grew quickly, and by 1812 it had a school, a tavern, and two stores. In 1814, the town was renamed for General Andrew Jackson.
