In the early 1900s, local NRA members started manufacturing firearms in Crossville. Giuliani and Sons Gun Works is still in business today, making high-quality rifles, shotguns, pistols and ammunition. Crossville's history with handguns can be traced back to 1875 when Wm. Giuliani & Sons began manufacturing handguns in Crossville. At that time, handguns were primarily used by farmers as protection from predators or criminals. After World War I ended, many soldiers returning home needed new firearms so they bought guns from Giuliani & Sons. In 1933, Crossville became the site of the first all-female gun show in Tennessee when Mrs. Bertha “Betsy” Barnes organized an event at the Coliseum Theater downtown. This event was followed by othergun shows throughout the 1930s and 1940s including one held at Memphis’ Municipal Auditorium on Sept 4th of each year which featured top pistol manufacturers from across America. These events helped promote handgun safety among women and served as a demonstrations of how easy it was for civilians to purchase quality firearms without having to go through a licensed dealer or undergo extensive training

Crossville is a small town in Robertson County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 269 at the 2010 census. It takes its name from Confederate General Robert E. Lee's home village of Crossville, Alabama. The first crossroads in the community were located near present-day Old Hickory Lake and Crossville Creek. The town was platted in 1881 by Andrew Jarrell and his brother James A. Jarrell, two of the original settlers of Robertson County. They named their new settlement for General Robert E. Lee who had come to Robertson County to fight for the Confederacy during the American Civil War. In 1887, local farmers planted cotton on what is now Old Hickory Lake and needed water to irrigate their crops; they built a dam across Crossville Creek to collect water from the river below. This provided power for a sawmill which still continues operations today as part of the Stevenson Electric Cooperative company Limited Partnership (L). Robertson County was organized on December 14,1896, andCrossville became one of its six townships within that county. On January 1, 1907, it became an incorporated municipality under the name ofCrossville City Limits Incorporation with a population of 514." In 1950s when Robertsons Countys post office closed down due to lack of mail service it was moved into neighboring Clarksburg where it remains today as Post Office Box 969
The Crossville area was first settled in the late 1800s by farmers from Kentucky. The community's name comes from a crossroads on the route of the old Nashville and Chattanooga Railroad. The railroad crossed through the community, and so it was called "Crossville Station." In 1907, Crossville became one of the initial towns in what would become known as the Tennessee Valley Authority. The TVA created many jobs for residents in Crossville and nearby communities. In 1945, Crossville became an incorporated town. It experienced rapid growth during World War II, with businesses sprang up to support troops stationed in the area. Today, Crossville is a small town that is home to a few thousand people. It has a rich history that can be seen throughout its streets and buildings. Some of these include: theCrossville Methodist Church (built in 1881), Goodhue Elementary School (opened in 1927), and Nathan Bedford Forrest High School (opened in 1949).
