Dyersburg, Tennessee is located in the extreme southwestern corner of the United States. It is named after a creek that flows through the city. The first European to visit Dyersburg was James Robertson in 1819. He founded a trading post on the mouth of the creek. trade with Native Americans took place here for many years until white men began settling in this area following its incorporation as a town in 1892. The opening of Interstate 65 created an even greater opportunity for commerce between these areas as people could now travel easily more places without having to go all the way down South or out West on long trips – something that had not been possible before! After Pearl Harbor, many Japanese Americans left their homes for fear they would be rounded up and held prisoner or executed if they returned home. Consequently, few people lived in Dyersburg during this time period; most residents came from nearby Chattanooga or Union City. However, following the war there was an increase in industry within Dyersburg thanks to new companies such as Ford Motors Company and Coca Cola Bottling Company which moved into downtown area after leaving their plants elsewhere in Tennessee or Georgia during wartime production shortages caused by newly implemented rationing policies affecting various industries throughout America at that time including food processing and consumer goods manufacturers alike). Additionally post-war growth occurred due largely to annexation byKnox County following Tennessee's 1967 constitution Revision Act which granted countyhood to every county east of Appalachian Mountains regardless of population size –thus making Knox County larger than Cumberland County (in western Tennessee) once again!
