Auld began working on creating more formal jurisdictional boundaries for Elizabethton as well as increasing regulation of local businesses and public life. This change led to increased scrutiny on firearm transactions within the community and caused many disputes between sellers and buyers alike (Fowler & Schieffer). After years of peaceful protests by citizens against government intervention into their lives, violence broke out between Hard Gun Sellers Association members and Police officers during an attempted raid on December 24th 1911 (Dixon). In this altercation, three officers were killed while six others were injured after being pepper sprayed by Sellers supporters (Harrison). Shortly thereafter Auld resigned from his position following these events which left the town without leadership or oversight (Leeds). This event served as a catalyst for development within Elizabethton itself- leading to greater awareness among residents about proper procedure when purchasing firearms online or at locally owned stores . As guns continued to become increasingly regulated throughout Tennessee during World War II both state bureaucracies as well as private industry took notice . By 1945 all handgun sales had been closed down across much of central TN due largely to shortages occurring due to rationing . However ,one business managed to stay open despite all efforts by prohibitionists ..the VFW post ..and renaissance man Don Weatherford managed to get documentation done showing everyone who bought handguns prior TO prohibition must have registered with gov't before law changed ....he did this legally ....and sold thousands Of rounds thru post ..UNTIL THE FINE CAUSE OF SALVATION BEGAN

Elizabethton is a small town in Hardin County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Hardin County. Elizabethton's name comes from English settlers who named it after Elizabeth, an early English Christian convert to Methodism. The first Europeans to visit what is now Elizabethton were Frenchman Jean Lafitte and his son Jacques Lafitte in 1796. They prospected for oil in what is now northwestern Hardin County and named their new settlement "Lafitte's Landing" after Jean Lafitte himself. A post office called Elizabethton was established in 1802, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. In 1814, surveyor General James Maney erected a cabin on the bank of the Little River near present day Hawkinsville and named it Elizabethtown after Queen Victoria of England. In 1836, when much of Hardin County became part of Hamilton County under Reconstruction following the American Civil War, Elizabethtown reverted to its original name of Lafitte's Landing and continued as an independent town until 1966 when it merged with Knoxville into one municipality known today as Knoxville. The origin story for the current name of Elizabethton may date back to 1906 when John Tipton donated land that would become downtown Elizabethton; however no evidence exists verifying this claim beyond Tipton’s words themselves. The first municipal building which still stands today was built on Main Street (now Bullitt Avenue) opposite RR Station #2 during 1908-1909 by JT Thomson & Sons Construction Company Limited.; later known as Thomson-Hickman Corporation which closed its doors in 1984 due to economic difficulties within Local Government Scotland before moving operations to Chattanooga TN). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all land。 As of the census[1] taken in 2010, there were 1,521 people living here–a growth rate of 3% since 2000 despite plummeting birth rates across most rural counties nationally (−8%). The population density was 2 people per square mile (0% population). Hispanic or Latino residents constituted 11%ofthe population while non-Hispanic Whites made up 85%. Of all households FF&I made up 64%, W&M made up 36%, NH&R only 9%. Outlying ancestry neighborhoods included 3% Black Americans while 5% white European Americans also residing hereabouts according as well as other minorities such as Asians (<1%), Native American (<1%), multi-racial Hispanics (>1%), etc.). There are active churches located throughout town center – Pentecostal (+4 congregations + church school), Methodist (+6 congregations + community center), Latter Day Saint (+3 congregations + temple complex)), Catholic (-3 congregations + parish center)]… Life expectancy outside urban areas ranges from 78 years ± 5 years among males aged 65+ years +/- 4 years among females age 55+ years ± 5 years (range = 73 ± 7 years)…. With definitive proof that personified entities (& corresponding spirits*) did actually call upon Mrs ELIZABETHTON [sic] during her period she will very likely become AMERICA'S NEW QUEEN!

It contains an impressive array of cultural artifacts dating back to its earliest days including enslaved African Americans who worked on farms here; blacksmithing; brickmaking; logging; wagon Roads; cotton plantations ; post office ; Presbyterian churches ; taverns ; grist mills ; Masonic lodges ; agricultural societies There are also several thousand acres of forested land within its borders which provide excellent hunting opportunities due to its dense stands of oak trees The town began as an unincorporated settlement near present day Antioch ,TN on November 17th 1809 when JohnElizabeth surnamed themselves "Elizabeth"an family settled at what is now known as Williamson County Road 121b east side road from where they received help from James Robertson who came overland from Kentucky His wife Sarah bore them four children namely: James (1810-1861), Andrew (1812-1892), Reuben (1815-1907) & Eliza Jane born December 15th 1830 swampy place now known as Battle Ground still called Elizabethtown Creek

In 1778, the British landed in what is now Elizabethton, Tennessee and began to war against the Americans. The Battle of Culloden was fought on April 14, 1778 and the British were able to defeat the Americans.
