Jackson, Tennessee is home to the Black Rifle Association (BRA) and has been a shooting community for over 125 years. The BRA was founded in 1873 and has been an important part of the community since then. In 1903, Jackson became the first city in Tennessee to outlaw firearms. This led to a gun culture that still exists today in Jackson. The GUNNAR museum is located in downtown Jackson and tells the story of how guns have helped shape this community.

Jackson Tennessee is a small town in the lower Cumberland Valley region of Tennessee. The population was 9,524 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Humboldt County and part of the Nashville metropolitan area. Jackson was founded in 1819 by James K. Polk as a trading post on the frozen Caney Fork River. The post was named for General Andrew Jackson, who had been elected President of the United States in 1837 and who had campaigned to move westward from Kentucky to take possession of what were then Mexican territory east of Texas. In 1840, when President John Tyler appointed Colonel George Catlett as territorial governor, Catlett decided that Jackson would be his first capital and moved the government center from Pittsburgh to Jackson in September 1840. The towns located around Jackson have grown up since Polk's day: Maycomb County was formed from parts of Humboldt and Robertson counties in 1881; Monroeville grew up around an oil refinery built by J.P. Morgan in 1907; Clarksville became known as "the Birthplace of Country Music" because so many musicians were born there (including Patsy Cline, Willie Dixon, Hank Williams Jr., Bob Dylan, Loretta Lynn, etc.) before moving on to larger careers elsewhere; and Downtown Jackson has become one of America's most vibrant downtowns with its mix of old-fashioned retail stores such as Sears & Roebuck and department stores like Macy's and JCPenney. Many people consider Jackson their home town because it offers them quality education: local schools are nationally ranked for teaching academic subjects such as science, math, reading/literacy and history; local businesses provide excellent shopping opportunities;Jackson is also home to two major medical centers: Vanderbilt University Medical Center which provides care for patients with serious medical conditions (such as heart disease or cancer) and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center which treats patients with all types of cancer...Today much remains unchanged about life here than when I first arrived 45 years ago - including my extended family ( cousins living downriver), friends who live hereabouts (a rarity these days), memories shared over beer at various outdoor gatherings or fishing tournaments at our favorite spots along the riverfront or simply enjoying time spent inside our comfortable homes watching TV or spending time outside playing sports...I am grateful for this community that has given me everything I've ever wanted - good health ( courtesyof good doctor visits), stability during tough times (due to affordable healthcare)and a place where I can be myself without worrying about being judged...Since becoming mayor in 2006 my goal has been not justto keep things running smoothly but alsoto make sure everyone feels welcome no matter their race or religion - something we are making progress towards...Thanks again everybody for making this place so special!
The history of Shooter Eye Protection is a long and winding one. Many people may not know this, but shooting sports have been around since the 1800’s. One of the earliest shooters was Dr. John Moses Browning, who invented the first effective handgun protection in 1876. He designed an eye protectors to help protect his eyes from getting injured during firearms practice. The protector could be attached to either the right or left eye and it had a small hole in it that allowed for easy installation. This type of shooter eyepiece protector would continue to be used by many shooters into the late 1800’s and into the early 1900’s. As shooting became more popular, so too did sightings of “bullet-proof glass” on various items such as rifles and shotguns. These products were created in an attempt to make sure that users wouldn’t get hurt when hitting targets with their guns. It wasn’t until 1907 that someone actually made a bullet-proof glass product that could also be worn over one’s eyes while firing a gun! This new type of eyepiece protector was called an “auspex” and it continued to be used by many shooters until the early 1940′s when World War II began. During World War II, shooters had to take special precautions when using firearms because of the large number of bullets being fired at them each day. One way that shooters were able to protect themselves was by wearing Eye-Bombs! These devices consisted of two lenses placed inside a tube which you inserted into your nose while firing your weapon! The device worked by emitting radiation similar to blue light which would blind any enemy soldier trying to shoot through your protective goggles! After World War II, there was a major shift in how shooter eyepieces were designed . Mostuddenly, there began to be interest in creating products specifically for use with handguns . This change came about due largely to accidents happening with handguns . In 1945, Sergeant Alvin York shot and killed 49 people at Fort Worth Army Airfield using his service revolver . After his death , federal investigators discovered that York had been wearing unprotected eyeglasses while firing his rifle

Jackson, Tennessee is a small town in the lower Cumberland Mountains of eastern Tennessee. The population was 2,643 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jackson metropolitan area, which has a population of 913,711. The first settler in Jackson was David Whitfield in 1801. The town was founded on the site of what is now downtown by subscription from landowning citizens who bought property near the mouth of the river. For many years it served as an interchange between Knoxville and Chattanooga on State Route 66. In 1864, when General Ulysses S Grant moved his army into Knoxville to take up his siege of Chattanooga, he proposed that Jackson be moved to within striking distance so that soldiers could be supplied and rested there instead of march all the way to Memphis for supplies and reinforcements. Although not much changed until after World War II, Jackson slowly regained its importance as a center for commerce and industry during the postwar period thanks to strong representation by local businesses in both houses of Congress and increased highway access to the area from Interstate 65. As recently as 1980, Jackson had only 1 percent Of Tennessee's population but accounted for almost one-third Of All manufacturing jobs in that state because its goods were shipped throughKnoxville or Chattanooga before reaching their final destination

The city served as the capital of Tennessee from 1837 to 1861 and also played a role in Reconstruction after the Civil War.
