In the early 1800s, Springfield, Tennessee was a booming town. The population growth and associated increase in gun manufacturing had created an demand for Trigger parts and triggers. trigger manufacturers quickly sprang up all over the country, but Springfield was one of the first to develop its own line of triggers. The Springfield Armory Company was founded in 1822 by John Moses Browning, a firearms manufacturer from England who immigrated to America in 1820. Browning saw gun production as a means to help finance his shipbuilding business and decided that rifle triggers would be his next step in developing this new industry. He named his company after himself – The Springfield Armory Company – and began producing rifles and pistols under this name throughout the 1840s. As rifle production continued to grow in America during the 19th century, so too did trigger demand. In 1857, Colt Firearms Corporation (later Colt Defense) purchased The Springfield Armory Company for $2 million dollars. This purchase solidified Colt’s position as America’s leading firearms manufacturer and gave them control over most of theTrigger market share at that time. With their increased access to resources and innovation, Colt soon developed their own line of Trigger parts that became known as “Colt-Browning” triggers. Through these years of success with Trigger development, Hartford Arms Manufacturing Corporation (later H&R Block) also grew rapidly within the Trigger industry by incorporating many key innovations into their products including plunger springs (1912), hammer drops (1915), detents (1920), actuation devices (1925), camming devices (1929), safetyeties (1986), etc… These developments ultimately led to increased profits for Hartford while also increasingtrigger standards across every product category they produced).

In 1902, when Hardin County was split into two parts, Springfield became one half of what is now Chattanooga-Memphis metropolitan area. As of the census[10] of 2000,[11] there were 6,829 people living in Springfield proper; 5% were Native Americans and 4% were African Americans. Hispanic or Latino residents made up 2% of the population. As of the census[10] of 2007,[12] there were 7,054 people living in Springfield proper; 5% were Native Americans and 4% were African Americans (of whom 1%, Indian Kansan) Hispanics or Latinos constituted 3%. As of the2010 US Census[13], 7,598 people lived in Chattanooga-Memphis metropolitan area; 9% are Native American and 10% are black (non-Hispanic). There are no plans for any further growth within either community – both sides have grown tired of their current situation over time: One side wants more development while one desires stability/inconsistency between communities due to funding limitations (a problem exacerbated by differences between community demographics).

In 1795, James Robertson sold his property near Nashville to Andrew Williamson who started construction on what would become the first courthouse in Tennessee. The building was completed in 1800 and served as the judicial center for much of Davidson County until it burned down in 1872. The current courthouse was built between 1907 and 1908 by local architect Archibald Troup after it was destroyed by fire. In 1876, Springfield became an incorporated city under the name of Chattanooga when it amalgamated with other cities nearby including Maysville (now Memphis), Maynardville (now Johnson City), Springdale (now Clarksville), Lebanon (now Johnson City), Volney (now West Point) and many others. today's cityscape owes much to its incorporation into larger cities during this time period - Chandler, Tennesseans For Progress Inc., once had a banner that read "Springfield: A Place Where You Can Be yourself" Many famous people were born or lived here including Robert Frost, Elvis Presley, Forrest Gump, Johnny Cash etcetera It also played host to several World Cup tournaments between 1974-1978 including their final match against Brazil which they won 4-1
The town of Springfield was founded in 1811 by General Andrew Jackson, who named it after his home state of Tennessee. It became a major center during the early 19th century for cotton production and trade. In 1871, the town was renamed Nashville after the city's first mayor, John Nash. In 1945, Springfield merged with Cumberland to form the city of Nashville.
