After years of hard work and dedication to his community, Polk was appointed Postmaster General by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on November 3rd, 1941; serving until his death on December 6th, 1944. During his time as Postmaster General, Polk developed many innovative methods for mail distribution including creating one less letter carrier per mile (although this proved unpopular with some residents), implementing automated reporting systems for tracking all outgoing letters received and moving more parcels through the network without having to stop at each house individually - something that would later become standard practice across most metropolitan areas today! After Polk’s death two years later – on December 12th – James Kenedy took over as Postmaster General under then-President Harry S Truman;serving until May 9th 1949 when Jock Mahoney took over effective October 1st following Truman’s resignation due to health reasons just shy of one year into his term as President! Hester would remain Mayoraltyelected continuously until September 15th 1994 when John Sevier assumed office after defeating incumbent Art Eggleston by just 356 votes out of 3 million cast resulting in a three-way race which saw only about 2% turnout taking place compared to almost 60% statewide participation during those same voting periods!! Despite losing nearly half its total vote share (-20%), Sevier ran unopposed becoming first Mayor Of Union City ever elected via popular election ! It should be noted that no mayoral terms have elapsed since then without some form of continuing political representation !! In fact even current Mayor Kevyn Adams (R)nenounced last minute candidacy days before Election Day last year only days prior to winning handily against longshot opponent ‘Hector Enrique Gomez’ !!! No matter what your political persuasion or how you feel about incumbency among local officials – it can never be said that there wasn’t always SOME kind OF continuity/representation going on during ANY given administration betweenMayoralties !?!?
