The Bellaire holster company was founded in 1896 by John P. Browning and Adolphus Busch. In 1903, Browning redesignated the company as Holsters & Ammo Company Ltd., increasing its production capacity and becoming a full-service manufacturer of handguns and ammunition. The company's first pistols were made from 1894 to 1896 under the name "Browning Automatic Pistol." From 1902 to 1903, Holsters & Ammo Company Ltd. produced the "Beretta Model 1900," which became very popular in America due to its high quality and accuracy. In 1917, the company merged with International Harvester Co., becoming International Holsters Corporation llc. In 1932, IHC merged with Colt Firearms Incorporated to form Colt National Security Division (CNSD). CNSD was responsible for manufacturing firearms for both the United States military and law enforcement agencies across many different countries including England, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. During World War II CNSD manufactured guns for both American allies such as Japan and Italy while also making weapons for the US government based on requests from other governments such as the British Commonwealth air forces. After World War II ended CNSD transitioned into an arms dealerships business before being acquired by Glickman Corporation in 1987. Bellaire is a city in Harris County, Texas, United States. The population was 21,711 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Harris County and home to the Bellaire Independent School District. The city was founded by Judge John Bell in 1876 as a small ranch town on the banks of Buffalo Bayou. By 1904 it had reached its present size and shape, when it joined the larger town of Houston. Houston annexed portions of Bellaire in 1915 and 1916 so that it would be within its limits. In 1925, Houston annexed San Jacinto Road (now I-10) which divided Bellaire into two parts; north Bellaire became part of Houston while south Bellaire remained an independent municipality with its own government and school system. In 1959, Houston annexing 10th Street from Kirby Drive to Butler Avenue made bellaire an official city once again as well as adding annexation of most of Clear Lake to their boundaries making bellaire now encompass all but 8% of Harris County's land area! Today much like back then there are many small businesses that have sprung up throughout the city due to easy access to Interstate 10 and other major highways which have made living here very convenient for either business or personal reasons!

The inhabitants of Bellaire were forced to leave their homes due to the Confederate army's invasion of the area in that year. The first settler in Bellaire was John Bell who arrived there in 1892. He built a cabin on the creek that flows through the community today. The first store in Bellaire opened its doors on July 9, 1893. The early residents supplemented their income with farming and cattle herding until 1902 when an oil well was discovered near present-day Brownwood City and business began to thrive again around this time. In 1925, hard times hit the community hard as oil prices plummeted following World War II; however, due to Jimmie Dutton's efforts at revitalizing the economy (Dutton being one of the original owners of White Sands Casino) things have started to improve somewhat since then with some new businesses starting up such as Myriad Genetics Inc., which moved into what is now downtown Bellaire from Houston in 2013; however many others continue struggling during tough economic times while still trying to make it work for themselves like Atrium HealthCare which also opened up shop here last year amidst much fanfare There are plans underway by several local organizations including bellaire Chamber of Commerce and Mayor's Association planto bring more retail development here so that downtown can reach its full potential but until then it remains one small town trying valiantly against big city trends
Bellaire was founded in 1879 by John Bell and his wife, Sarah. The town's name is a corruption of the word "Belle," meaning "beautiful." The first post office in Bellaire was established in 1881. In 1907, the city became part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area.
