In 1933, two Brenham businessmen - Roy and Art Kirkpatrick - purchased a small business called The Rifle Scope Company. The Kirkpatricks strived to provide quality rifle scopes at an affordable price point for hunters and outdoorsmen all over America. They continued making high-quality optics products until 1995 when they sold their company to American Optics Corporation (AOC). AOC continues making top quality optics products today under the name American Optical Industries (AOI).
Brenham, Texas is a town in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,872 at the 2010 census. Brenham is part of the Fort Worth–Arlington Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community was founded in 1881 by settlers who arrived from Kentucky and Tennessee. William Hance Brenham Jr., a cotton farmer, began to grow corn and other crops in the area in 1885. In 1907, he donated land for the townsite of Brenham on his farm north of town. The first post office was established in Brenham on March 15, 1907. Brenham has experienced many changes over its history. It became an industrial center after production moved to nearby Arlington during World War II; however, this period ended with the arrival of Interstate 20 in 1965 and subsequent economic decline that has continued to affect the community since then. Today, Brenham is home to several small businesses as well as the local high school and two churches: First Baptist Church and Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Catholic Church both located within walking distance of each other on Main Street. In 1984, Mayor Bill White won election as a Democrat after serving three terms as county judge; he became mayor following a change in political power structure that gave more representation to suburban counties across Texas

Brenham, Texas is a small town in Hudspeth County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,593 at the 2010 census. Brenham is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. It lies about 22 miles (35 km) west of downtown Austin and about 15 miles (24 km) east of Round Rock. The first settler in Brenham was John Wesley Hardin in 1847. He named his place after General George Washington Butler who had fought in the Mexican-American War and had settled in what is now Wichita County, Kansas. In 1853, James Fenton bought land here from Hardin and built a cabin on the bank of the Arkansas River. A post office called Brenham was established in 1865, but it didn't take off until 1887 when J. Bigham moved here from Missouri to start a grocery store that became one of Brenham's most popular businesses. In 1888, Plankinton Ellington founded an oil refinery near present-day Midlothian Boulevard and I-10 exit 422A/Hwy 281A which became known as Ellington Oil Company; it still exists today as Midlothian Boulevard Energy Partners LLC (). In 1907 Hildebrandt Crouch opened a restaurant called 'Crouch's Place' on US 290 south of town that remains open today as Brazos Valley Grill & Pub (). In 1925 local resident Harry Carney started selling ice cream from his truck around town before opening a standalone business five years later called Harry Carney's Dairyland () which continues to operate today as Harry Carney's Creamery (); also located nearby are Harry Carney's Bakery (), Harry Carney's Ice Cream () andCarney Drive-In (). Ida Mae Kneeland opened her first general store here in 1928 with two locations: one at 801 Main Street (what is now Alamo Drafthouse Cinema) and another at 915 Main Street (). The original Ida Mae Kneeland Store closed circa 1958 but reopened under new ownership as Empire Hardware & Home Improvement (); it closed again circa 1984 but reopened again as Empire Hardware & More () prior to its current incarnation.) After World War II many farmers left their farms for city life due to high prices for goods available outside the farmlands – this led to increased demand for goods produced within Hudspeth County such as cottonseed oil products – so much so that by 1951 there were already five plants manufacturing cottonseed oil products here employing 3200 workers (). In 1962 Chadbourne Burch published his book 'Buchananberry', based on his experiences growing cotton on family property near Herndon (), becoming one of the earliest proponents of using technology to increase efficiency while reducing production costs; this led to increased investment into fabricating equipment specifically for crushing cottonseed kernels). The county seat did not move from Brenham until 1971 when Midlothian Boulevard was created making it unnecessary for both municipalities to have an official seat; since then Brenham has been listed as a ghost town by government officials . A fire destroyed most buildings along I-10 southbound on December 12th 1979 causing $6 million dollars worth damage including 2 gas stations - 2 auto dealerships - 1 movie theater - 6 retail stores - 5 banks - 3 pizza places - 2 convenience stores
Brenham was founded by George Brenham in 1836. It served as a post office from 1837 to 1865 and as the county seat of Texas from 1865 to 1870. A cotton gin was built in Brenham in 1841, and the first school in Brenham was established in 1847. The current Brenham courthouse was built in 1915.
