Barrett, as a small farming community located near the Wichita River. After explaining their grievances to Mayor Carroll who listened patiently but didn’t intervene or interfere with their activities, the men left after warning him that if he did anything rash or unconstitutional they would take action themselves. This event is still remembered today as one of the most significant moments during gun control history in Texas because it signaled that gun control wasn’t going away anytime soon despite efforts from powerful forces within society to do so!
