When Cleburne, Texas was founded in 1879, it was a small agricultural town of about 6,000 people. However, the town quickly grew and by 1909 had reached its current population of over 25,000. As gun ownership increased throughout the late 1800s and early 1900s in America, so too did the demand for safe storage spaces for firearms. In 1911, an ordinance was passed in Cleburne that required all businesses with more than five employees to have at least one safe room equipped with a gun safe. This ordinance also prohibited anyone from bringing any loaded firearms into the business without first getting written consent from their co-workers. In 1933, another ordinance was passed which regulated the sale of handguns within Cleburne city limits. The ordinance banned the purchase or sale of handguns on Sundays or during government holidays such as Christmas or New Year’s Day. It also allowed residents to possess up to three handguns per household but could not sell or trade any handguns except to other residents who agreed to pay a $10 annual registration fee . In 1984, Cleburne voters approved a new city charter which allowed for the opening of local bars and restaurants which were then required to install security guards with guns when open to customers . After several years of testing and research by city officials and community members alike,Cleburne finally enacted its first handgun storage ordinance in 1990 . This law regulates handgun sales within City Limits only and requires that each store keep two pistols locked in a vaults at all times while stocks are available. The Kleck Amendment became effective on July 1st 1999 which repealed portions of TX Penal Code §39-5-2 (the “Kleck Amendment”). Under this amendment , everyone subject to Penal Code § 39-5-2 (owners/purchasers of handguns) must provide written consent before possessing any firearm at any time while they are not being used for lawful purposes(i.e.,unless exempted under similar circumstances listed below). This amendment is intended as an interim measure until statewide regulations concerning handgun possession become effective pursuant to Senate Bill 4 (the “Senate Bill”). Cleburne, Texas is a small town located in the U.S. state of Texas. The population was 1,191 as of the 2010 census. It lies within Kaufman County and is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area. The name Cleburne comes from two Indian words: cli-bawn and burn (the first word meaning "clear stream"). The creek that flows through Cleburne was named by General John Fayette in 1823 after Maj.-Gen. James Kenedy's battalion of cavalry destroyed a party of Apache Indians near present day Earlington, east side of Cleburne Creek on October 8th, 1824 while pursuing their attackers across the creek bed. At present there are few physical remains associated with these events but oral history has perpetuated the story for many years which can be found at various places throughout the community such as Earlington Cemetery or Clear Creek State Park off I-35W just north of downtown). In 1836, General Sam Houston purchased some land from Major Elisha Richardson to build his future capital city Montrose on what is now Downtown Houston (Montrose means "new town" in early Texan Anglo culture). On November 5th, 1840, Houston founded andnamed this new city Cleburne after himself and Burnet County seat Fort Bend County before he resigned from office to take up arms against Mexican forces invading Texas in April 1846 during the Mexican War - see Battle of San Jacinto for more information about this event). Houston's original city hall building still stands today (see photo right), being used as a museum today since it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. In 1865 when Houston became Governor of Texas; he ordered all county seats except Galveston be moved to Austin so that Austin would have an equal number of counties represented in government – see History lesson below for more information about this historical event). Clevelandtorrance had been built by JH Boyd & Sons dry goods store owners between 1909-1910 using funds available from USFWS Fish Hatchery bonds issued during WWI #1) To finance these projects they hired local contractor C H Whitehead who designed most aspects including building/landscape features and constructed both interior and exterior walls utilizing rubble left over from World War I battles along Clear Lake shoreline where USFWS facilities were located including one famous concrete song float known as USS Polk which served as an advertising billboard for Clevelandtorrance until it was destroyed by Hurricane Ike in 2011) . This massive structure measured 130' x 70' x 30', sat on 4 acres at its peakoccupied almost 400 workers inside & out during its operational days although only 10% Storage space remained afterwards! He describes how he would often walk down Clearlake Boulevard past Brownsville Road into Clevelandtorrance when he lived there because it was always open WiFi even though there wasn't any cellular service then! He also recalls how much fun people would have going fishing offClearlake Bayou because they could catch anything they wanted!"

When Texas seceded from the United States in 1865, most of Cleburne's original population returned; however, some remaining residents established new homes in nearby Marble Falls and Waco.
