Desoto is a small town in Webb County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and is located on FM 3593.
The current town was founded in 1879 by John Desoto and his wife Jane as a post office and warehouse community on the banks of the San Antonio River. It became an agricultural center with prosperous cattle ranching until World War II when steel production began to take off in the area and Desoto's economy changed from agriculture to manufacturing. In recent years, Desoto has become a bedroom community for Dallas-Fort Worth.
The first European settlers arrived in what is now Webb County in 1836. They were led by Hugh Gregg, who named it for José de la Vega y Herrera, one of Spain's most important explorers of that era. Spanish explorer Hernando De Soto also explored this area during his 1795 expedition along the Trinity River but he never reached Desoto or took possession of it because he failed to find any oil wells near present day Desoto; instead he discovered Tascosa (present day Midland) further south. A land grant was given to José de Escobar y Costilla in 1847 which provided them with 640 acres (2 km²) of farming land east of present day DesOTO for $10 per acre ($4/ha).
In 1865 Reván Wiensz bought 633 acres (246 hectares) adjacent to present-day DesOTO from Don José Gomez de Lara for $1 per acre ($0.68/ha). Wiensz named his new property "Desoto" after John Fenton Wheeler's book "Chirripó: A Historical Sketch" which had been published two years earlier while he was still living at Wichita Falls, Kansas Territory under Mexican rule before returning home to farm here with his family following annexation by the United States as part of Sam Houston Purchase lands east of Buffalo Bayou on November 30th, 1867. Wiensz continued expanding his holdings through purchases over time until becoming owner or operatorof over 100 businesses including grain elevator yards at Sabine Pass (near present day Midland), cattle ranches and cotton plantations throughout much of central Texas. He also donated land subsequent to annexation including 5 square miles (13 km²) north east corner parcel adjoining Main Street between Buffalo Bayou and US 71 where HEB operates today.
On December 3rd 1870 Reván Gómez sold 4 square miles (8 km²) northeast corner parcel adjoining US 71 & Main Street along Buffalo Bayou for $9 per acre($0.) This would later become HEB’s site.
In 1890 Edwin Jukes purchased 701 acres (291 hectares) northwest corner parcel adjoining US 71 & main Street along Buffalo Bayou from Reván Gomez for $12 per acre($5/ha). Jukes renamed his property "Hagermann" after Johann Friedrich Hagermann who lived nearby. He continued expanding his holdings until becoming owner or operatorof over 100 businesses including Grain Elevator Yards at Sabine Pass (near present day Midland), Cotton Plantations throughout much of central Texas., Light Manufacturing Companies such as Republic Machine Works < br />and Harry Laughlin Brewing Company

There is no one definitive answer to this question, as binoculars have been around for centuries and there are many different types and brands available. They were initially created to help troops see in dark passages or during wartime when other forms of optical equipment would not be able to give them clear images. In addition, binoculars have also been used for scientific observation and identification purposes. Today they remain an important piece of equipment for both personal use and law enforcement work. The first examples ofbinoculars appeared around 6th century BC in China. This type of looking glass was specifically designed to assist armies in battle by allowing them to see clearly whatever is happening behind enemy lines without having to go outside. The original design had three lenses that could be rotated independently which made it possible for men on either side of the battlefield to watch the action from different angles simultaneously. Over time, various improvements were made to the design such as adding a fourth lens/lens group that could be rotated independently and a metal frame that allowed for better durability over time. By 4th century AD, Binoculars had become so popular that their use was officially recognized by the Roman Empire!

Desoto is a town in Stephens County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. The town was founded by Anglo-Saxon settlers in 1836 as a rancho on what is now Desoto Creek. In 1868, it became an independent municipality and retains its name today. The first post office in the town was established in 1869. The modern city of Desoto was formed from parts of Desoto Township and portions of Round Rock in 1907. The climate of Desoto has been changed more than any other place in Texas because of cattle ranching and farming activities which have taken place here for centuries. A significant influence on the climate has been windmills erected here to raise power for irrigation purposes since the early nineteenth century; these were replaced by coal-fired plants after World War II.
The Desoto area was first inhabited by the Caddo and Wichita people. The area was part of the Mexican land grant to Jose Antonio Pico in 1821. In 1836, the Texas Rangers were created to fight Santa Anna's forces in the Texas Revolution. The Desoto River valley became a part of what is now Tarrant County, Texas. In 1923, Ira Dubois opened his grocery store on San Antonio Street in downtown Dallas. In 1932, he and his wife founded Dallas Cowboys Stadiums Company which built and operated Arlington Stadium for the Cowboys from 1933-1979. In 1937, J.B. "Buddy" Ewing bought the Dallas Texans from George Seifert for $350,000. Ewing renamed themDallas Mavericks and they played their first game at American Airlines Center on November 14, 1937 against the Minneapolis Lakers
