The Forest Hill Glass Company was founded in 1865 by a group of men led by Mayor John T. Morton and businessmen John Beeks, A.F. Smith, and J.H. Stackpole. In 1868 the company changed its name to the American Glass Company after receiving an order from London's King George V for 100,000 binoculars. In 1892 the American Glass Company merged with two other companies to form The Harwood Manufacturing Company which continued producing binoculars until it closed in 1907.
Forest Hill, Texas is a small town in Williamson County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. The first settler in Forest Hill was James Hargrave in 1847. He and his family built their home on a farm that he bought from John Overstreet. By 1850, Hargrave had five children and began to trade goods with settlers in nearby Georgetown for cattle and flour. In 1857, James married Sarah Wilson and started a family of their own. They raised chickens, pigs, cows and horses on their farm until 1861 when they sold it to Jethro Pogue who moved his family to Fort Worth. In 1865 (the same year as Fort Worth), Forest Hill's post office was established. The original building still stands today on Main Street adjacent to the old schoolhouse which once served as the town hall; it has been used as both a library and community center since then. In 1868, Forrest Hall settled in Forest Hill with his wife Margaret Heflin after leaving Wichita Falls where he had been employed by the Ulysses S Grant Administration as an inspector of public works near Big Spring TX In 1870 Forrest began homesteading land east of present day Main Street which he called "Doris". For many years this land remained unclaimed but eventually was donated to the Town of Forest Hills by Forrest's grandson David Loyd in 2006 along with other property that Dickie Walls donated back into what is now known as "Doris Park" . There are two cemeteries located on this property: one dedicated to James Hargrave (1847-1920) who died suddenly while working on Doris Creek upstream from his home; another for Sarah Wilson (1848-1912) who also died suddenly while working on Doris Creek upstream from her home ; both graves date back to around 1860 or 1861 when ForestHill became attached to Fort Worth .

Forest Hill is a small town in Hudspeth County, Texas, located on the banks of the Brazos River. The population was 1,692 at the 2010 census. Forest Hill has been inhabited by Native Americans for many years and is one of only a few small towns in Texas that still retains some of its Indian heritage. Forest Hill was founded by Captain John Troup in 1833 as a trading post on land grant he had obtained from the Mexican government. The post operated until 1836 when it was closed due to pressure from U.S. forces occupying Mexico City at the time. The site of Forest Hill was later developed into an agricultural town with grain Elevator facilities being built there in the early 1920s and 1930s. The first African American to reside in Fort Worth arrived here in 1905, when James Washington came throughFort Worth on his way to becomector mayor of Dallas soon after becoming United States Minister to Spain. MrsWashington's husband, Vernon Washington, also worked here as a machinist during those days. In 1967, Forest Hill voted to secede from Hudspeth County and join Arlington County effective July 1 that year following passage of the state constitution which granted all Texans indigestion over local government consolidation issues statewide while allowing for continued autonomy within individual counties within Texas so long as they adhered to certain constitutional provisions such as prohibition of racial discrimination.(1) Since then, Forest Hill has been steadily increasing its population with no end in sight both because people are drawn here primarily for its natural attractions including hiking and fishing along Brazos River (the only other significant water body within close proximity), as well as its relatively low crime rates relative to larger metropolitan areas like Dallas or Houston.(2) It should be noted that although annexation by Arlington County occurred rapidly (just under two years), decisions made about what type of governing structure would best serve residents there were much more deliberative given that Arlington is composed mostly of wealthier white suburbanites who may not have felt comfortable having their taxesincreased directly attributable to poorer minority groups; however annexation by Fort Worth did take somewhat longer given that Fort Worth Mayor Ron Littlefield opposed it.) Most recently, Forrest Hills annexed part of unincorporated Cameron Township effective May 15th 2014(3).
The Forest Hill community in central Texas was founded in 1881 by a group of farmers who bought land from the Comanche Indians. The name Forest Hill comes from the oak trees that lined the nearby streets. The town grew quickly, and by 1910 it had a population of over 1,000 people.
