More than 50 businesses were closed down due to shortages of materials needed for munitions production; however,Gateville quickly turned its attention to developing new businesses such as agricultural products and retailing goods to support wartime needs. Today Gateville celebrates its anniversary as an incorporated municipality each year with a Days-of-Fiesta celebration that includes general admission tickets for all events held throughout the community throughout July and August inclusive of parade & fireworks display at nightfall
