This event marked the beginning of an era in which Fort Worth began annexing smaller towns within its boundaries in an effort to make more space for itself within Travis County governmental limits During this time period, other large towns within Travis County such as Aliceville and Midland did not have their annexation requests approved until after Arlington Heights had done so
