Haltom City is a city in Haltom County, Texas, United States. The population was 5,811 at the 2010 census. It is the second most populous city in Haltom County after Wichita Falls. The city was founded on October 16, 1868 by John W. Haltom and his brother-in-law James Fenton as a station on the Santa Fe Railroad. The name for the city was first chosen by election of citizens; it was changed to Haltom City on November 3, 1869. On May 1, 1886 local merchants met to form the "Haltom City Merchants Association" to promote trade within the town limits of Haltom City and support general commerce within the county seat of Wichita Falls. This group lobbied for change to the County seat from Wichita Falls to Haltom City in order that more people would live and work in one place instead of traveling between these two cities every day. The growth of Wichita Falls led to competition between these two towns for jobs and business opportunities; this caused a decline in enrollment at both high schools throughout 1941-1945 due to World War II rationing. In 1946-1947 school enrollment increased by 2%. A new high school opened its doors in 1949 with an enrollment of 675 students; however, changes brought about during subsequent years (e.g., annexation of nearby Lake Worth) caused school enrollment levels again dipping below 500 students by 1957 when only 507 residents lived in Covington Township which adjoined Haltom City proper

Artillery Rounds The firstbullet was created by Nicholas-Jacques Conte in 1795 when he designed a round made of metaleshrapnel which could be fired from a cannonball launcher. This bullet was successful and was soon modified to create other types of projectiles such as shells and torpedoes. The modern artillery round is typically made out of cast iron or steel; it has a pointed end (the nose) and a small hole at one end called the base. The metal ball is dramatized by having grooves cut into it so that it can spin when fired from a cannon or rifle muzzle loader. Hunting Round A hunting round is any projectile used for shooting game or poultry during Hunting Season in order to harvest them humanely or for subsistence purposes only. There are many different types of hunting rounds including buckshot, birdshot, pigeon shot etc., each with its own unique benefits and disadvantages over other types of projectiles available at the time they were developed. Buckshot is probably the most well-known type of hunting round due to its effectiveness against large mammals like deer, moose, elk etc.; however birdshock (a subtype) has been shown to be quite effective against smaller animals like rabbits, squirrels etc., making it an ideal choice for target practice or self-defense situations where you do not want to hurt your target but still need to kill them efficiently! "Birdshot" refers specifically to both buckshot and birdshot ammunition produced since 1795; "buckshot" being older terminology for "basket case shot", while "birdshot" represents all future versions including today's FMJ (firearm metallic jacketed projectile), M4/M16 ammo which uses copper jacketed lead projectiles manufactured since 1986
