Most holster historians would agree that the holster was first developed in the Texas Panhandle region of Highland County. This area has a long and varied history, which is why it is such an interesting place to study the history of holsters. In 1876, Colonel John Ransom patented his concept of a shoulder holster. This design allowed for easier carry and less fatigue while hunting or patrolling. The development of this type of holster helped increase safety when travelling by horseback and made it possible for law enforcement officers to carry more equipment with them on patrols. The cowboy culture began to die out in the early 1900s, but Holster historian David Savoy believes that the popularity of shoulder holsters may have been due to their ease of use and convenience. Despite this popularity, most shoulder holsters were not widely adopted until after World War II when technology improved and people could afford new types of firearms.

It is the county seat of Medina County and lies within the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. Highland is first settled in 1836 and its post office was established in 1839. In 1906, Highland became part of McKinney County. In 1972, Highlands became part of Medina County. The current name for Highland comes from John Bigham's claim to land that he discovered near present-day Highlands on November 5th, 1838 while exploring north central Texas for cattle properties owned by San Antonio merchants James Fenton and George Waddell The history of Highland dates back to 1836 when prospectors A.M. Ferguson and Purdy Beattie discovered silver on a ranch belonging to David Teague in what is now northeast Medina County In 1907, Hondo Creek Railway was built through Highland from McKinney to Commerce City In 1932, Highlands had a population of 350 residents when it Joined the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Area Homespun cotton farming began along with other new farming methods such as weeding and mowing which allowed farmers the opportunity to sell their produce directly to consumers
The holster history of the United States can be traced back to at least 1792. holster design in America began with the early M1871 Springfield Armory-produced Colt Model 1873 revolver, which featured a webbing strap around the outside of the gun's grip to create a holster. This type of holster was popularized by Army Captain George Armstrong Custer during the American Civil War and became known as "the cavalryman's armory." By 1907, handguns had become so prevalent in American society that it was necessary for law enforcement officers to carry handcuffs, pepper spray, and otherweapons. As such, holsters were developed as an interim measure between carrying a weapon openly and having it hidden inside a police officer's vest or coat. The first holsters designed specifically for handguns appeared on the market in 1911 when Rufus Childs patented his "Universal Holster" for Colt revolvers. In 1923, John Browning created the Browning Hi-power handgun and marketed it under the name "Hercules". He believed that pistols should have high firepower while still being concealable, which led him to create one of the most successful handgun designs in history. Highland, Texas is a small town located in central Texas that was founded in 1867. The name comes from the highlanders who once populated the area. Highland is known for its cattle and sheep production, as well as its natural gas reserves. Today, Highland is a proud community that has drawn people from all over the United States to visit. The first settlers to Highland were Presbyterian missionaries who arrived in 1867. They built a log cabin on the edge of what is now Highland High School. The original post office was open for only two months before being closed because there were no postal privileges available in this region at that time. In 1870, a man named John Silliman set up a store in what is now downtown Highlands and began selling goods such as clothing and tobacco products. In 1872, land was donated by General Sam Houston to be used for agricultural purposes. This area later became known as Robstown after one of the original landowners, Robt Robison. In 1875, the first school was built in what is now downtown Highlands. It was called Beecher's School until it moved to its current location in 1895 due to damage caused by fires that had destroyed many homes throughout central Texas at that time. In 1907, construction began on what would become Highland’s first dam which would provide water resources for local farmers and municipalities alike until it was demolished in 1971 following an earthquake which damaged much of central Texas including Highland specifically! In 1915, businessman James Troup donated land adjacent to his home on Park Boulevard which would eventually become downtown Highlands’ shopping district! Many of today’s businesses were started or continue operations here - including JT’s BBQ (now Ponderosa Grill), JW Healey’s Pizza & Pasta (now Papa John's Pizza), Tomball Toyota (now Tomball Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram), etc...
