Horizon City, Texas is a city in Dallas County, Texas, United States. The population was 381 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. Horizon City was founded in 1879 by James W. Ivey, a landowner and banker who donated the land for the city. The city's first mayor was Fenton H. Fuller, who served from 1881 to 1888. In 1912, the city annexed the neighboring town of Arvada. In 1966, Horizon City became an independent municipality under the name of "Edmonton."
