The history of firearms in Levelland, Texas dates back to the early 1800s. The first firearms were used for hunting and protection from Indians. In 1836, a man by the name of John C. Frick purchased a pair of pistols from a French dealer in Levelland. By 1840, Frick was the owner of an Arms and Ammunition store in town which he operated until his death in 1849. From this store, Frick developed relationships with many gunmakers in southwest Texas. One such relationship was with J.B. Stevens who built him two shotguns- one made in 1848 and the other made in 1850. In 1851, General Sam Houston bought land east of Levelland and began development of what would become Houston Heights. On November 5th, 1852, Houston erected a large brick wall around his new city limits and began construction on Fort Bend County Courthouse located at 1203 Main Street today known as the old courthouse building downtown Levelland). Levelland, Texas is a small town located in Medina County, Texas. The population was 2,521 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. Levelland has a humid subtropical climate and experiences average monthly temperatures of 84 degrees F (29 degrees C). The community was founded in 1881 by John A. Ladd and his family as a station on the Butterfield Overland Mail route between Fort Worth and Dallas. The name "Ladd" comes from John A. Ladd, one of the original settlers in Medina County. The post office was established in 1882 and named for John A. Ladd's father, James A. Ladd Sr., who had also settled in what is now Levelland about two miles south of present day town center on an old cattle ranch known as Rancho San Juan de la Vega The first store opened in 1886 and soon became the nucleus around which all other businesses developed over time including a school, blacksmith shop, grocery store, doctor's office (1892), meat market (1910), livery stable (1925) and several churches including First Baptist Church (1920), Methodist Episcopal Church (1927), Stake Zion Presbyterian Church (1930) and others through annexation into larger communities over time such as Edgewood Junction near Garland to the east then Plano to the north later Addison to the west In 1912 Levelland incorporated as a city with its own mayor/council while continuing to operate under municipal rules with some powers granted to it such as building permits which were not subject to state or local regulation until after World War II when many cities went through this process On July 1st 1920 another annexation took place resulting in Prairie ViewA&M University being established adjacent to town limits After years of growth residential areas were annexed into Levelland starting with much land within today's downtown square where services are now provided like library services(1964), water Treatment Plant(1978), high school(1981) hospital(1991) jail(2000)parking garage & plaza

Levelland is a small town in Tarrant County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,040 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fort Worth–Arlington–San Antonio Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first people to live in Levelland were Choctaw Indians who hunted and fished in the area until 1836 when they were forced out by settlers. In 1851, George Prentice built a cabin on what is now State Route 6 east of town. A post office was established in Levelland on December 12, 1851, and remained open until it was discontinued on March 13, 1907. In 1865, Lululemonia Wells founded an oil well at the site of present-day Levelland Elementary School. The wells produced petroleum products for local use until 1935 when refineries became available in nearby Arlington. In 1936, Forrest Jarrell started selling produce from his farm near present day Elmendorf Drive and Broadway Street to customers along Railroad Avenue south of town. By 1941, Jarrell had developed a 400-acre (160-km2) fruit orchard that included sections of Telephone Road between Cedar Creek Boulevard and League Drive west of town; he also grew corn and beans on 10 acres (4 ha). During World War II there was heavy military action around Levelland as bombings destroyed most infrastructure; however no damage resulted from enemy bombing attacks against the community during that conflict. A post office reopened in 1945 after being closed for several years due to lack of mail service from Fort Worth via route 66 which ran through town center linking Fort Worth with San Antonio de Bexar County beyond Loop 610 West then took US 290 north to Interstate 10 just south of downtown before turning east to return into I-10 westbound past Exit 100A near today's intersection with US 287/I-30 before terminating at exit 104D (now FM 529). When international travel expanded into new areas following World War II such as South Korea and China there was increased demand for air services connecting Levelland with these regions; accordingly two airports opened up within commuting distance including one serving Levelland Village Center while another served both Fort Worth airport and San Antonio airport farther south via I-35W concurrent with interstate highway 55 all the way to Alvin Mall where travelers could catch buses or trains to points east including Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport where Unlimited express bus service operated daily connecting various parts ofTexas without having to disembark at their destination station

Levelland was founded by John L. Levelland in 1879. The city is located in the United States of America and has a population of over 125,000 people. It is the county seat of Cass County and is also home to the University of Texas at Austin.
