The store was open for about 25 years before it closed due to financial difficulties. In 1854 Fenton died suddenly however his wife continued running their business until her death in 1861. Their son James Fenton Jr., who succeeded them ran the store until he sold it to J C Meyers Sr in 1924 who operated it until his retirement in 1957 which left it vacant until acquisition by Mid-America Research & Development Center (MARS) . MARS purchased it from Meyers’ heirs on December 12th 1978 . They continue to operate MARS as its sole owner today providing commercial research support services to major industry players across North America including ExxonMobil and Texaco among others

Mckinney is a city in the U.S. state of Texas, located on the Brazos River. The population was 114,711 at the 2010 census. The city is named after Sam Houston and its first mayor, James A. McKinney. McKinney dedicated an Oval Drive Cemetery northwest of downtown McKinney to burial of citizens who died during the Mexican–American War or while serving in Ulysses S Grant's army at Palo Alto Ranch (now Fort Worth State Capitol Park) west of town limits; these burials are still visible today including a markerstone encircling an old cemetery mound just northeast of downtown McKinney within City Limits Park - off US 290 & Grand Parkway exit off I-10 West just outside Beltway 8 exits). In 1860 when Dallas was established as a separate county seat – governance over which would remain withHouston until 1870 – Streetsboro Road became TX Highway 6 and then US 90 through downtown Dallas/Houston boundary from Main Street east to Gessner Boulevard/US 290 north; following annexation by Arlington County in 1924 local streetsboro RD became arterial I-10 Business Loop 610 East / I-30 South exiting Beltway 8 EAST just outside DFW Airport boundaries
Mckinney, Texas was founded in 1879 by Michael W. Kinney and James F. McKinney. The town served as the county seat of McDonough County until 1907 when it became a part of Travis County. In 1915, the city of McKinney was established and quickly grew in popularity as a bedroom community for Austin. The city's population reached 100,000 by 1951 and 300,000 by 2000. In 2013, the city lost its status as the capital of Texas after being moved to Austin from McKinney
