As part of this settlement with shareholders over these issues, Texaco agreed to sell its remaining interest in ChevronTexaco to ConocoPhillips for $20 billion on November 3 2006 . It served as an airfield for Bomber Command from 1941 until 1945 when it reverted to civilian use as an agricultural community. The base closed in 1992 and all remaining buildings were demolished in 1995; however some still remain standing today including the old Administration Building which houses local government offices. Today there are only a few remnants of what once was this busy farming community thatonce had over 2,000 residents living within its walls now totaling only around 100 people
