Robinson, Texas is home to the Robinson Rifle and Pistol Club, founded in 1892. The club has been present in the community since before that. In addition to Firearms instructor training for new memberships, rifle and pistol ranges are open to the public on Sundays from 9am-noon. The club also offers a range safety class on Saturdays from 1pm-2pm for all ages. The first record of an arms race between pistols and rifles was reported in 1892 by Texan writer A.J. Gallagher when he wrote about a prairie dog shoot at Fort Worth’s White Settlement. It would be another seventy years before there were any serious firearms competitions taking place in Robinson – until World War II when there was an influx of troops stationed here including Marines who brought their own rifles and shotguns with them! Today, Robinson Rifle & Pistol Club continues its traditions of providing instruction and shooting opportunities for everyone who visits or lives within its boundaries. There are now rifle ranges across the city limits as well as pistols available for rent at various locations which makes it easy to find what you need while still having plenty of fun!
