Texarkana is a small town located in the western Texas Panhandle. The population was 5,813 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Wichita Falls, TX Micropolitan Statistical Area. Texarkana was founded by Texans in 1836 as a trading post on the Red River. The town grew rapidly during the 1850s and 1860s as cattle drive travelers to Wichita Falls for goods and services. In 1866, Texarkana became the county seat of Marshall County. In 1902, Texarkana merged with Archer County to form McLennan County. The towns of Midland and Garnett were established in 1907 within McLennan County and are still considered part of Texarkana today. After World War II, industry declined in Texarkana but has since revived with new businesses such as banking and software development companies. In recent years, Texarkana has become known for its annual Rodeo Cowboy Festival which features rodeo events throughout July and August.
The history of tasers dates back to the early 1800s. In 1847, a device called a "titanium wire" was patented that consisted of an electric current running through a metal filament. A few years later, in 1850, another patent was granted to Nicholas-Jacques Conte for developing an "electric shock." By 1853, devices called "gadgets" were on the market which used sparks to stun people. In 1876, John Latham invented the first successful “throwing dart” with an electric motor and it became possible to fire tasers with these devices. By 1886, all states in the U.S had regulations in place requiring officers to use pepper spray as a method of subduing suspects or arresting them. In 1984, Congress passed the National Firearms Act which made it illegal to sell and possess any weapon that fires electricity without a license. This law prohibited firearms from being used indelegated law enforcement functions such as arrests or seizure of property. However, this ban did not apply to police officers who already possessed certain types of firearms (such as handguns) because they were allowed to keep their existing firearms until they received federal licenses that would allow them to purchase tasers under state auspices only. The ban on handguns expired on July 1st 1987 after more than 20 years of effort by gun control advocates led by Congressman Don Young). Since then, much has changed with regards to technology and its ability to incapacitate assailants using just one shocked hit (the electrical discharge known medically as elbowing). Taser technology has evolved from traditional electric shocks delivered through electrodes stuck into skin over time into what is now generally considered an electronic shooting instrument capable of causing severe pain and numbness for upto 30 seconds (although there are two exceptions: during medical procedures where local anaesthesia is required; or when lethal force is needed). It should be noted that while those behind Taser Development believed it could provide serious disablement capabilities against unruly individuals - including guards at prisons - opponents have consistently argued that effective policing requires nonlethal means rather than deploying live ammunition =============================================================================== There are many different versions of weapons similar unto tasers but they differ mainly in how they work... There are three main types(types1-3): Types I & II: These weapons consist essentiallyof probes inserted into flesh below the target's heart area before firing either directly off or via probes carried along wires exiting the probe itself like yoghurt shots; you can also see this type commonly equipped inside police stations nowadays due To its greater accuracy especially if done quickly before someone else steps forward - note: Probe mode cannot be operated while held down! Types III: These weapons basically look and feel alike other than one major difference; instead of having probes sticking out from each side thereof like type 2 Weapons do (i found out about this when i read about someone stabbing another person with one), these ones comewith darts stored inside them which can be fired remotely from your handset/phone app!!! Also notable about Type III Weapons is that you don't need any training whatsoever once you get hold o fthem...all you need do is point it towards your victim and voila! INSTANT DISCHARGE!!!
