Bountiful, Utah is a small town located in Davis County, Utah. The population was 2,814 at the 2010 census. In 2000, Bountiful had a population of 1,681 and in 2008 it had 1,527. Bountiful is located on the eastern edge of Davis County and is bordered by Ogden to the north and Sandy to the east. The elevation of Bountiful ranges from 553 feet (158 m) above mean sea level to 930 feet (291 m) above mean sea level. The first people in what is now Bountiful arrived from Illinois about 1847. They built a trading post here and named their settlement after bountiful springs near their location which they found were producing more water than any other spot on earth. A post office was established here in 1868 and operated until 1969. The community began as an agricultural farming center with crops such as wheat, oats, barley and potatoes being grown; however over time it has become an important commercial center for agriculture with its own retail stores, banks and factories including two aluminum smelters that have produced aluminum cans since 1984. Today there are many businesses that support local economies within the bounds of Bountiful: banks (First National Bank - 1993-2009), restaurants (Civic Center cafe - 1994-present), schools (Utah State University - 1992-present), hospitals (Salt Lake City Medical Center - 1990-present) as well as several manufacturing companies such as KNR Corp., H3O2 Inc., PMI Services Inc., Asphalt Pavement Specialties USA among others that have set up shop within or nearby the town limits over time making it one of most vibrant communities in Davis County today!

Bountiful, Utah is a town in Weber County, Utah, United States. The population was 3,986 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. Bountiful was founded in 1876 by Brigham Young and his family as a cattle ranch on what is now the east side of Price County. In 1909, Bountiful became an incorporated town when it annexed Price County to its boundaries. Bountiful has a rich history dating back to 1876 when Brigham Young and his family founded Bountiful on what is now the east side of Price County as a cattle ranch for their expanding empire as leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). As early as 1881, LDS missionaries were exploring this area and came across an unoccupied land grant given by President George Washington to Edmund C. Grant which included what are today known as Bountiful and Davis Townships on the eastern edge ofPrice County. After surveying these areas and making inquiries with local landowners who had some connection to LDS activity in those days, LDS leaders decided that this new site would make a good place for their church headquarters due to its convenient location midway between Cache Valley on the north shore of Lake Powell and Davisburg on the south shore of Lake Layton; two important railroad centers within easy driving distance both from Salt Lake City; and also because it would be accessible by wagon road from all parts of Weber County. On October 9, 1881 - less than two months after President George Washington awarded Grants land grant - Mormon pioneers arrived at this new site to begin construction on The First Temple (later renamed Temple Square), one day later marking what would become one Of The Most Significant Events In LDS History! The first building erected at Bountiful was the stock barn which served as our parish hall until 1898 when our first temple was dedicated in Draper Park adjacent to present day Main Street just off State Street near North Temple Square! A few years later we purchased land adjoining present day Cottonwood Drive which served as our church cemetery starting in 1901 until 1925 when we moved bodies into present day Kimball Memorial Chapel! Our first bishopric was organized here circa 1903 with Elder Jerald Ricks serving as leader during that time! That same year we also acquired water rights from Springdale Creek resulting in us becoming totally self-sufficient growing corn, beans & wheat until well into World War II!! From 1911-1920 we also built up our other stores doing business under various names including Smith’s Drug Store & Grain Store before finally becoming known simply as “The Mercantile Company” responsible for providing essential groceries throughout much of Weber County!! During World War I our company produced munitions totaling over 1 million rounds!!! This production helped support many families thru tough times thanks largely too men like Harvey Sacks (and others) who worked long hours every week long into war trying desperatelyto keep things going while millions were fighting overseas!!!! We lost many members during those difficult times but will always remember how God used those men (& women) through His terrible tragedy!!!!! In 1922 after numerous surveys showed that there were no more suitable locations available for either a hospital or school district for our growing community then elected officials decided upon building John Fenton Elementary School located just east off US Highway 89/ Interstate 15 Next door to current Day Kayser Middle School !! This school served grades PreK thru 12th thru 2002 inclusive having been utilized primarily for agricultural purposes until Moroni High School opened nearby giving us increased access to better facilities !!
