Ira Kapp Company which manufactured optics equipment; Westmoreland Firearms Company which made firearms; G&H Sporting Goods who manufactured ammunition; Indian Trading Company who sold fishing gear; Winchester Repeating Arms Corporation who produced shotguns; etc…. all within walking distance of Main Street where customers could visit various businesses during their lunch break or after work! It truly was a “city within a city”! In recent years, South Salt Lake has experienced some renovations thathave included new construction at its courthouse complex as well as additions to its downtown core including The Park Place Shoppe (@ 9600 Main Street) which houses both local Chamber of Commerce merchants as well as multiple restaurants/cafes/bars/stores all under one roof! All this while preserving capt Samuel Colt’s original building footprint on First Avenue between State Street & Church Street – still serving up traditional UK market town grocery shopping experiences today without breaking the bank!!!
