The first airguns were invented in 1892 by George Washington Carver and Alpheus Ames. The first practical airguns were designed for hunting small game such as rabbits, squirrels, and deer. Airguns became popular among Americans during the 1930s due to their ability to kill large numbers of small game at a low cost. A number of companies manufactured airguns during the 1930s including Winchester Repeating Arms Company, Savage Arms Company, Colt Firearms Corporation, Remington Arms Company, and Browning Arms Corporation. These firearms were called “pistols” because they usually fired pistol rounds while being carried in one hand like a revolver while using the other hand to hold onto a target or wield an object such as a knife or hatchet. During World War II, many pistols designed for war use were redesigned into rifles such as Thompson submachine guns and BAR (British Automatic Rifle) rifles which used gasoperated bolt-action systems instead of percussion caps to fire rounds from magazines. This change allowed these weapons to be fielded against Allied tanks and armored vehicles without having to convert them into machine guns or cannons like earlier pistols had been required to do. In addition, these new rifle-type pistols were more accurate than previous handguns because they employed sights rather than crudely carved woodblocks that could not take much abuse when firing live ammunition. In 1948, John Millington Wiley developed what is now known as the Wiley Model 922 semi-automatic pistol which fires spent cartridge cases through a magazine located beneath the barrel rather than through an individual shothole in the barrel like earlier pistols did. This change allowed this handgun to be fielded against large numbers of targets at low cost while still being able to provide accurate fire over long distances thanks to its use of sights rather than carved wooden blocks that could not take much abuse when firing live ammunition

This purchase included land along the Potomac River that formed much of today’s downtown area including where Congress met in 1789 and where John Adams served as president from 1801-1809. In 1924 President Calvin Coolidge dedicated a water front park located just east of central downtown which features a promenade with views over Downtown Washington D.C., two large gardens complete with fountains and statuary by sculptor Thomas Sully, two restaurants – One known for its seafood dishes such as crabcakes served fresh daily in an open-air grill outside under live oak trees on Market Street near US Capital Boulevard -one serving Americanized Chinese cuisine called “Chef Wang” -four retail stores: Macy’s Department Store Annexe which opened in 1925 adjacent to Fort Myer Museum & Garden; JCPenney #1 store opened November 15th 1928 across from RFK Stadium immediately south of then current day U Street NW Corner parking lot across from Japanese Embassy now home to Mary Pickford Theatre Company -now known as ABC Studios;; Sears Roebuck & Co store opening March 1st 1951 just east side Old Georgetown Rd between 10th St NW & 12th St NW corner opposite Smithsonian Institution becoming followed by Kmart next door February 1st 1957 also became anchor tenant here until it closed December 31st 2006 leaving only BarnesandNoble remaining on this block currently occupied by Hyatt Regency hotel next door

In 1892, a group of men in Missouri started the first airgun company. It was called the "Dowling Gun Company". The company produced guns of various types but only made small quantities. In 1901, the company merged with another gun company to form the "Gunn Manufacturing Company". The new company produced rifles and shotguns as well as pistols and revolvers. In 1912, the Gunn Manufacturing Company merged with yet another gun company to become the "National Firearms Corporation". This organization manufactured firearms for both civilian and military use.

Falls Church is a town in Fairfax County, Virginia. It was founded in 1749 by George Washington and his wife, Maria Groom. The town was named for the falls of the Potomac River that are located near its center. The area now known as FallsChurch was first settled by English colonists in the early 16th century. In 1749, Washington and his wife,Maria Groom, purchased 640 acres (250 hectares) of land from the Powhatan tribe for $5 per acre. They began to build a home on this land and called it "New York". In 1760, Washington became president of the United States and new legislation gave him exclusive rights to name all U.S. towns after himself or members of his family. When he died in 1776, New York was renamed "Falls Church" in his memory. In 1801, Falls Church became part of the newly formed Dominionof Virginia colony under John Randolph Sr.. Shortly thereafter it became an incorporated village with a Board of Alderman controlled by wealthy landowners who contributed property to support civic institutions such as schools and churches. By 1830 it had reached its peak population with 2,100 residents; however during the American Civil War most citizens chose not to fight because they were poor soldiers' sons or women's husbands rather than men fighting for their countrymen at war's front lines; however some did choose to see service because they saw no other way out for them and many men lost their lives on battlefields throughoutVirginia The Village grew slowly until 1850 when work started on expanding what would become tomorrow’s shopping district including stores like Davenport & Brothers department store which opened in 1865 up along Northumberland Street There were also small Cementeries housing families until 1906 when plans were made to raze them all due to increasing sewage backups created from heavy industry coming into town during that time period . However intense Preservation efforts kept most of these buildings standing until recently thanks mostly to local resident fundraising over many years culminating with a recent donation from Mrs . Jane Smithers who has been maintaining her late husband’s house on Northumberland St since before she moved back East As development continued along Northumberland Street there came about problems with traffic congestion caused by increased demands for more space within reason so much so that one early plan put forth recommended tearing down entire blocks between Aldermanbury Road (now Hwy 506) – White Oaks Road (now I-495) – Loudoun Street – Buchanan Avenue just east of present day Falls Church Rd while still leaving plenty of room acrosscurrent day streets for future growth . But this idea quickly met opposition from Mayor John Fetterman who felt that too much development would compete successfully against older neighborhoods already existing within walking distance while also creating more pollution !! A compromise solution proposed demolishing only two blocks between Aldermanbury Road - White Oaks Road - Loudoun Street - Buchanan Avenue while leaving plenty of room acrosscurrent day streets for future growth AND allowing current residents/ businesses adjacent to demolished buildings considerable compensation !! This proposal eventually became law but unfortunately didn't go far enough as zoning changes have since returned almost every block adjacentto Present Day Falls Church Rd back into Residential zoning making further development virtually impossible
