Bothell, Washington is a city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 362 at the 2010 census. The town was founded in 1853 by Captain George Vancouver and his family. Bothell is located on the north bank of the Spokane River between Seattle and Bellevue. It became part of Seattle in 1898, when Bothell and all of what is now King County were detached from Swedish Village. The first settlers to Bothell were Captain George Vancouver's family who established a trading post there in 1853. In 1865, General James Kensey requested that Bothell be made the seat of King County because he found it necessary for government operations that could not take place at either Seattle or Bellevue due to their distance from each other. On February 12th 1870, the vote to make Bothell a full county seat was passed with 60% of the vote against by residents of adjacent townships including Northgate, Fremont and Redmond which had petitioned for annexation into King County prior to voting. The first school in Bothell opened its doors on October 11th 1875 under the name "Seattle School". A new school building was built in 1907-1908 and dedicated by Governor Alfred Percival Elliott. In 1916, bothe high school (now called Eastern High School) opened its doors with Class H beinggrades 9-12th grade; however classes were discontinued after World War II because of political changes that led to KING College becoming an all day institution rather than evening classes like schools back then. The present high school building opened its doors on September 7th 1965 as Eastern High School-Now known as "Bothell" High School (). In 1923 automobile production began at Washington State Arsenal located just east of town along I-5 near Maple Leaf Road; this allowed people living outside Seattle proper access to products made here without having to go through Tacoma or Olympia where prices were much higher. This also helped spur development within town boundaries as cars started moving around more easily instead of taking long trips up I-5 out into rural areas where highways did not exist then! This industrialization helped bring prosperity and jobs to many individuals within town limits while also contributing significantly towards growth within downtown Bothell itself over time – something we can still see today with businesses like Amazon HQ1 situated just two blocks away from our current downtown core!
