In 1942-43 when World War II began much of what is now Bothell was within Japanese territory and there were various raids and skirmishes between American military forces and Japanese troops throughout the area including some near present day Bothell which led to some damage done both inside and outside of town limits. After1945 much growth occurred with new subdivisions being built on older farms around town center as well as elsewhere within King County with few boundaries remaining except for those immediately surrounding Bothell until recently (the last boundary change taking place on December 1st 2006). During this period also numerous schools were constructed including one high school which opened its doors on May 3rd 1949 just two weeks after Roosevelt High School opened in Seattle following interurban bus service being discontinued between then both towns thereby making it possible for students from both towns to attend together rather than havingto travel separate routes home. Since 2000s many new homes have been built alongalk I-5 outside of town limits creating another open space within K county once again making it possible for people not only from neighboring towns but also those living far away to access this qualityof life amenity despite recent zoning changes by county management limiting such development within city bounds
