Burien, Washington is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 9,815 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle metropolitan area. The land that now Burien was first settled by the Puyallup people in 1847 as part of their struggle against the Lewis and Clark Expedition's efforts to open up Oregon Territory to settlers. The town was founded on January 3, 1862 by James H. Burke with a population of six hundred residents. In 1865 it became the county seat for King County and remains so today. In 1907 burien annexed what was then known as White Sands (now SeaTac), increasing itspopulation to 10,000 residents within five years of its incorporation; this annexation made Burien an established city and helped spur development in nearby SeaTac which had only begun to take off after World War I when military base construction began there (the first Boeing plane flew from Seattle to Tacoma on July 16th 1923). In 1951 Burien annexed Snohomish Valley, making it one of the few towns in all of King County to have both urban and rural areas. In 1985 Burien amalgamated with neighbouring Des Moines Township

This device consisted of an aluminum body with two 10 watt headlamps attached via harnessesstringing from behind the handlebars; this gave you maximum brightness while riding your bicycle or walking over uneven ground). The HLLB allowed police officers and stagecoach drivers using horseback riders lanterns during stagecoach robberies to shine down on their targets without fear of being shot by these criminals!
