east Wenatchee, Washington is a small town located in King County in the Western United States. The population was 1,691 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wenatchee-East Wenatchee area. East Wenatchee is bordered by the towns of Leavenworth to the north and east, Moses Lake to the south and west, and White City to the northwest. The first people to live in what is now East Wenatchee were Native American tribes who hunted large animals along what is now I-5. They built small lodges near present day East Wenatchee for about 350 years until 1855 when white men started coming into western Washington looking for land to settle. In that year, General George Custer's army was crossing the North Fork ofthe Snake River from Oregon when he met a party of Indians led by Chief Josephine (Cheyenne) resistance movement leader Pierre Bouraudet at an overlook on Hoh Rainier National Park near present day White City. Bouraudet warned Custer about Indian attack but Custer continued his march across the river because he thought it would be easy enough to outmaneuver them if they did come. When he got close enough to see their encampment there were over 100 warriors with bows and arrows waiting for him! He didn't have time to fight or ride away so he surrendered instead and was taken prisoner on July 24th, 1876. In 1899, after a long legal battle with private ranch owners, Denison Ranch became public land which included much of what is now East Wenatchee proper including most of today's village limits within its boundaries. Eastern Washington was organized as a county on November 3rd, 1898 under act 9 Statute 505 diriged by Senator Harry Benson from Olympia. At that time only King County had such structure apart from Pierce County which formed shortly afterwards out of eastern Snohomish County including much of today's town limits within its borders A post office called "Wenatchee" was established in 1903 and remained open until 1959; it will be remembered most notably for being where Microsoft's headquarters stood from 1975-1983 before moving back inside Microsoft Headquarters Building on Capitol Hill near Seattle until 1995 The first store in what are nowEast WenatcheEwenville opened in 1916 During World War II many local businesses produced munitions like gasoline stations that could provide fuel for planes based out of our airport nearby Today there are several restaurants/bars/cafes/nightlife features as well as more traditional businesses like lumber yards/fabrics stores etc., making East Wenatchee one big city center surrounded by rural areas

The first post office was established in 1889. The name "East Wenatchee" was chosen to honor General George Armstrong Custer and his battalion of cavalry who fought in the Mexican–American War. In 1907, East Wenatchee became a city when it merged with neighboring West Wenatchee. In 1961, it reverted to its original name when it amalgamated with other villages within King County as East Wenatchee Village. Located on the eastern edge of Olympia National Park and just north of Interstate 5, East Wenatchee had a long history as an agricultural community that relied heavily on farming goods exported from China and Japan for export to North America. Today, much of what once constituted these rural fields has been replaced by suburban developments or national forests which provide hiking and biking trails as well as access to waterfalls and lakes across miles of rolling countryside. A number of businesses have sprung up along I-5 in recent years including two gas stations (one now closed), two fast food restaurants (IHOP and Burger Kings), one pawn shop/retail store (Albertsons), several churches/temples (St John's Episcopal Church & Baptist Chapel; First Baptist Church; Christ Lutheran Cathedral; First Methodist EpiscopalChurch), three professional sporting venues - Joe's Pizza Arena which hosted both men's basketball and baseball games throughout the 1990s while also serving as home court for Bellevue Community College's lacrosse team during their inaugural season in 1997; Microsoft's Redmond Campus location opened in 2001 adjacent to Raytheon Missile SystemsUSA Inc., providing space for research into artificial intelligence.; four sitters homes: built between 2003-2006 by developer Randy Cook Jr., who co-founded Eastern Wash Homes LLC.; Lakeside View Estates consists primarily of single family homes built over an open field adjacent to Lakeside View Golf Course that offers easy access from I-5 outside entrances; Ando Development housing began construction near milepost 112 on I-5 last year but has not yet been finished

After the Gold Rush of 1849, Wenatchee became a rapidly growing town. The first post office was established in 1853, and rapid growth continued until the late 1800s. The town's original name was "Wenatchee Falls." In 1897, the name was changed to "East Wenatchee" after a larger community east of Wenatchee Falls. The early years of East Wenatchee were difficult for many reasons. First, the area was remote and had few resources. Second, there was little competition for land in the region due to its high quality levels of water and timber. Third, development in other parts of Washington made it difficult for settlers to move into East Wenatchee quickly. Fourth, as East Wenatchee grew more populous and developed businesses, some residents began to feel that they were not getting fair treatment from local officials. Finally, disagreements about zoning rules led to fistfights between neighbors over property rights in the early 1900s. Despite these challenges, during much of the 20th century East Wenatchee experienced significant growth and progressivism throughout its constituent parts. For example: -In 1954,East Wenatchee voted unanimously to become an incorporated city with full voting rights under Washington state law -In 1961 an annexation plan by Yakima County led to increased development along Highway 99 near East Wenatchee -In 1970 a new shopping mall called Pacific Place opened in downtown East Wenatchee -In 1984 a large fire destroyed most of downtown East Wenatchee
