Red dot sight history in East Wenatchee, Washington began with the arrival of American soldiers in the area during World War I. The ERDS would become known as “The Snake” because it featured a high resolution LCD display that could show target information at any angle within 15 degrees of aim while still providing 100 percent viewability from rightward or leftward aiming positions without obscuring other elements on screen. East Wenatchee residents were first introduced to this innovative technology when they saw demonstrations of The Snake during Army maneuvers in 1984. After seeing their own potential application for this type of technology in their community, they soon launched an organization called East Wenatchee Tactical Technology Committee in 1987 which helped develop local applications for The Snake including night vision goggles, digital impactor sights and laser rangefinders/aiming devices among others. This continued development led to production of The Snake tactical weapon system nos 0885-01 through 0896-04 which became available starting in 1991 . These weapons featured electrooptical sights with red dots above each lens that allowed users Manual or Electronic Fire Control systems (FFCs) attached directly to them allowing direct fire at designated targets under all lighting conditions including bright sunlight or darkness

East Wenatchee, Washington is a small town located in the Yakima Valley of eastern Washington. The population was 2,859 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wenatchee-King County Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Yakima River forms much of the town's eastern border and flows through it. The river's main tributary is the Wenatchee Stream. Other local rivers include the Apple River, Clearwater Creek, and Cephalo Creek. According to the United States Census Bureau, East Wenatchee has a total area of , all land. As of the census of 2000, there were 2,611 people, 997 households, and 773 families residing in the town. Red dot sight history can be traced back to the early 1900s when various inventors and developers began to experiment with using red dot sights in firearms. In 1916, the first true red dot sight was created by inventor George Krueger. The device consisted of a small white lightbulb that sat on top of a dark metal housing. When aiming at an object, the user would place their hand on top of the bulb and hold down the trigger button. This system allowed for quick, accurate shooting without having to use gloves or other obscuring devices. In 1938, American Rifleman magazine featured an article entitled “The Red Dot Sight” which described how a gunsmith had designed and built a red Dot sight that could accept any conventional ammo types including Winchester FMJ rounds. In this model, rather than featuring two small white lights atop a black lens housing like the Browning B-B Gunsight, it consisted of just one small light on an adjustable focus eyepiece located above each eyepiece instead. This incarnation proved inaccurate due to poor manufacturing tolerances and quickly fell out of favor among firearms enthusiasts after being replaced by newer models around 1960s onwards. It wasn’t until 1968 when Heckler & Koch AG introduced its H&K VP7V6 Red Dot Sight which utilized three LEDs mounted within an illuminated reticle along with frame elevation/zoom functionality for improved accuracy and Tenet Aimpoint optics for better seeability under bright conditions*. In 1912, when Yakima county was created,East Wenatchee became part of it and remained so until 1959 when it merged into nearby Stevens City proper. At that time Stevens City had a population of over 20,000 people while East Wenatchee had only 4500 residents. The area now known as East Wenatchee was first inhabited by the Yakama tribe. The first Europeans to arrive in what is now East Wenatchee were fur traders and missionaries in the late 18th century. The area became a part of Washington Territory during the Territorial Period of 1861-1876. In 1881, East Wenatchee was designated as one of the townships in Whatcom County, Washington. In 1907, what is now Eastern Washington University was established in East Wenatchee.
