Lakewood is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 7,611 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle–Tacoma metropolitan area. The name Lakewood comes from the first settlers, who named it after a small body of water they found near their farmstead on what is now Second Avenue West and Swenzer Road. The first store in the community was opened by J.C. Stephenson in 1885. The community grew quickly due to its location close to the railroad and easy access to water resources. By 1913, Lakewood had a post office, five churches, two banks, three schools and six businesses. In 1923, Lakeshore Avenue was built as one of the main streets in town and became an important commercial thoroughfare for many years thereafter. In 1949, when King County established its first county seat outside ofSeattle city limits (at Issaquah), Lakewood became an incorporated place under state statute No 5204-49 (the 'Lakeshore incorporation law'). On July 1, 1951—just over four years after Issaquah's incorporation—Lakewood adopted its own charter with a population of 705 residents making it one of America's smallest towns by population at that time (). In recent decades there has been strong growth in business development around the lakefront areas including: retail stores; restaurants; bars; hotels and inns; offices; a golf club/resort;; and more recently homes developments on large parcels overlooking both lakeside communities including North Vancouver and Shoreline Village
There have been various types of lasers since the early 20th century. The earliest lasers were based on photoelectrons, which are particles that have a positive charge and can be created when light shines on them. In addition to their uses in consumer electronics and other everyday products, semiconductor lasers also play an important role in military applications such as pulsed dye Laser Beams (PDL), terahertz waves (THz), femtocellular communication, microwave oven cooking and radar observations. One major advantage over traditional optical Lasers is their ability to produce high power output without experiencing unacceptable damage from stray sunlight or direct energy from other objects present within their beam path. Additionally, they are relatively easy to build; one example is fiber-cordless amplification using femtocells as back-end amplifiers. There is still much room for improvement however; many systems still suffer from deficiencies such as chromatic aberration (CA), image quality loss due to individual brightness fluctuations, limited spectral range or poor response time when used outdoors or under bright lighting conditions

Lakewood is a city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 33,539 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of King County and one of the fastest-growing cities in America. The first permanent settler in what is now Lakewood was George Noyes who arrived in 1853. By 1870, there were twenty businesses and two hundred residents. In 1872, the town was platted as a village on land donated by Major Amos Kendall of Seattle. The name "Lakewood" was chosen because it had been recommended to merchants as being an auspicious site for commerce due to its clear waters and wooded areas. The first post office opened in 1875. In 1916, the City Council voted to annex what is now Spokane Valley after hearing concerns about potential competition from Spokane for business and housing development in central King County. At that time, Spokane had over 1,000 residents while Lakewood had only 30 or so people. However, annexation resulted in a rapid growth rate for both cities that continue to this day; today Lakewood has over 500 residents while Spokane has only 606
Lakewood was founded in 1892 by George and Jennie Clymer. The town grew quickly, and by 1912 it had a population of around 100 people. In 1916, the Clymer family donated land to the city for a park. The park is now called Clymer Park.
