Oak Harbor is a town in Clark County, Washington, United States. The population was 9,811 at the 2010 census. It lies on Puget Sound south of Seattle and west of Bellevue. The first settlement in what is now Oak Harbor was made by fishermen and their families in 1881. On October 15, 1907, the first permanent home for the town was built by contractor James Hines on land that had been part of Bainbridge Island since 1833. The name "Oak Harbor" came about because of two ships that were wrecked on theSound in 1828: the USS "Oak Harbor" (1829) and HMS "Queen Anne's Revenge" (1830). Commodore George Vancouver named both vessels after oak trees found near his shipyard in Sitka, Alaska. In 1908–1909, a group of businessmen from Everett founded the Seattle-Bellevue Bridge Company to build a bridge across Puget Sound connecting Seattle with Bellevue. The company failed and its workers went off to start their own companies instead. In 1909, local citizens organized themselves into a village corporation which they named according to their favorite season: cherry blossom time being Springtime; fall being Halloween; winter being Christmas time; and springtime being Mayfair time. The first post office opened in Oak Harbor on December 6, 1909. A telephone line was added to the town on November 3rd 1912 through private enterprise called Pacific Telephone Company. By 1916 there were ninety residents living in what is now Oak Harbor Village – twenty-five more than when it incorporated as a village Corporation six years earlier! A water tower/pump station was built in 1915 by Wm Mosely & Sons Pumping Co.. In 1951 an additional pump station/watertower was added along Highway 99W just east of downtown Oak Harbor making it one complete pumping station complex for all three villages along that highway! One hundred thirty homes were built between 1925 and 1950; eighty-eight percent were single family homesites with outbuildings such as sheds or garages used only for storage or parking during those years! By 2000 over one thousand people lived within walking distance of each other inside shopping centers like Microsoft Center and Costco warehouses! And yet even then much work still needed to be done to keep things running smoothly such as maintaining streets cleanliness etc., services generally contracted out or outsourced through specialties firms operating out of large commercial buildings

Oak Harbor is a town in Kittitas County, Washington, United States. The population was 5,758 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Yakima Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to visit what is now Kittitas County were traders and missionaries who travelled up the Columbia River in search of new land to colonize. Evidence suggests that an Indian village was located near what is now Oak Harbor when Captain George Vancouver sighted it on July 14, 1792 during his exploration of the Northwest Coast of North America. The first house in what would become Oak Harbor was built by Englishman John Richardson in 1802 as a trading post on Puget Sound's north side. The town began to grow rapidly due to its location and its potential for shipping and mining opportunities which led to it becoming a city in 1907. In 1932, Oak Harbor became the southernmost incorporated municipality in Washington state after incorporation by residents of nearby Qualicum City. In the early 21st century, Oak Harbor has seen both growth and decline as an agricultural center with many farmers struggling to compete with more industrialized areas such as Seattle or Tacoma. However, there are still some vestiges of sleepy small towns charm that continue to draw people into town throughout every day activities like fishing or shopping at local businesses like Herberger's Hardware or Weis's Market
