Pasco, Washington is a town in Pierce County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. The Pasco Historic District is a National Register of Historic Places listed district that includes many buildings from the late-19th century to the early 21st century. The first European settlers in what is now Pasco were French missionaries in 1839. They named their land "Pasco," after their missionary leader and friend Father Pierre-Luc Pasquier. In 1861, the U.S. Territory of Oregon was created from parts of the Northwest Territories including most of what is now Pierce County and much of what is now King County; as part of this territory, Oregon assigned Pasco to King County. In 1871, when Puget Sound became a state within Washington following statehood, Pasco became one of its largest towns because it lay on an important shipping route between Seattle and Tacoma via Puget Sound and Lake Union (later called Lake Washington). In 1907–08, during prohibition era alcohol sales were outlawed in all but a few small towns in Washington State; as such, many businesses closed down or had to sell liquor only through special arrangements with law enforcement officials; however, pascoal residents refused to comply with Prohibition's strict rules and continued trading without selling any alcohol—an event which later came to be known as "the hangout holiday." In 1918–19 due to World War I efforts by then Mayor Harry Seibert not only did local businesses support military recruitment but also raised money for war supplies by selling candy bars; afterwards Seibert regularly distributed candy bars door-to-door throughout the city limits for entertainment purposes only (and not for sale). A number of these bars still remain popular attractions today among locals and tourists alike on days when free candy bars are available from various public sources outdoors (e.g., at amusement parks). There are several restaurants still open that serve post prohibition beer/wine/hard liquors even though prohibition ended nationally on January 17th 1933: Hiwassee Brewery opened in 1921 (closed 1953), Crystal Springs Brewery opened 1954 (closed 1975) - both reopened in 1998 under new management - Grain Belt Brewing Company opened 1967 (closed 1978) - closed 1990 before being reopening again as Pacific Ale Works 2013) - closed 2018 before being reopening as Wren's Nest Brewing Co.; Westside Tavern & Grill remodeled into an outdoor restaurant serving food outdoors since 2016 A number of religious institutions were established during this time period: First Presbyterian Church grew out of two ministers who started services at an old brush shop near present day Southcenter Mall; Potter's House Christian Church began services near Pioneer Square in 1922; Methodism moved its headquarters from Seattle to Pasco in 1925... After Prohibition ended nationwide on January 17th 1933*, many small businesses aroundWashington State faced closure--but pascoal residents refused compliance with Prohibition's strict rules* instead continuing trading without selling any alcohol *An event which later came to be known as "the hangout holiday." Many stores located outside city limits continued operating however due largely to citizens willingness to trade goods they could not bring inside against Prohibition regulations

Pasco, Washington is a small town located in central Washington. The town was founded in 1847 and became a city in 1907. Pasco has a population of approximately 20,000 people and is the county seat for King County. The town has a rich history that can be found on both the local and national levels. The first Europeans to arrive in what is now Pasco were fur traders who traveled through the region looking for new land to trade with. In 1847, Jens Nielsen arrived at the mouth of the Nisqually River and began trading goods with local tribes. He also built his first trading post here. By 1850, Pasco had become an important center for trade in this area due to its location at the junction of two rivers. In 1907, Pasco became a city when it was merged with other nearby towns. At this time, it was one of the most populous cities in Washington state. As part of its growth, Pasco developed several commercial districts which remain largely functional today such as downtown and Smith Hill Park. Additionally, pascoal Mayor George Cunningham created a public works program which helped modernize many aspects of the community including building new schools and streetscapes throughout the cityscape
Pasco was founded in 1792 by Juan Rodriguez de la Portilla and is the oldest city in Washington. It became a county in 1853, and an incorporated town in 1881. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 116,624.
