That year, a group of men from Weirton founded the Airgun Club and began manufacturing their own air rifles. The club continued to produce air guns until 1912 when they became known as the Weirton Rifle Company. In that year, the company produced its first rifle using gas-operated mechanisms. From then on, the company’s production methods would change frequently but ultimately results in airguns that are still considered some of the best in terms of performance and accuracy. In 1928, the Weirton Rifle Company relocated to new premises at 4015 Stevenson Drive in Weirton. At this time, it became known as the Weirton Rifle Works which would remain its primary production location for many years to come. The works produced a wide variety of firearms including assault rifles, shotguns and even pistols until 1984 when it closed its doors permanently due to lack of demand or competition from other gun manufacturers. Today, only a few legacy pieces left behind by this once iconic company still exist within Weirton – most notably their historic rifle factory where today you can find examples of all types of airguns ranging from single shot rifles up to semiautomatic pistols

Weirton is a town in Buchanan County, West Virginia, United States. The population was 2,811 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Buchanan County. Weirton is located in the Appalachian Mountains and is bordered by Marshall County to the north,Jefferson County to the east, and Mingo County to the south. The first settler in what is now Weirton was white homesteader James Hargrave on December 26, 1810. He named his property "Widower's Meadows." On November 30, 1815, Thomas Weir bought out James Hargrave's share of "Widower's Meadows" for $1 cash and 20 acres (8 ha). The original town site was laid out by Judge John Crain on April 6, 1826. Judge Crain built two square blocks of brick buildings on land that had been donated by Drury & Company merchants from Wheeling City in Harrisonburg County. One block building still stands today; it is called White House Block and marks the location where James Ivey met his future wife Sarah Ewing at a dance in early 1830. In May 1830, General Andrew Jackson came through Randolph County on his way to Harrisonburg to campaign for president and stop at Weaverton Court House before traveling onward into Mingo Valley towards Whittier Springs Lake. When he reached Weaverton Court House he found that all but one wall of the court house had been burned down by local men who were protesting against Jackson's visits to their locality during this period of political unrest throughout America Inaugurated as a new county seat on January 1st 1831 when Randolph County became part of West Virginia was general Nehemiah Greene who arrived from Kentucky about this time also with orders from President Andrew Jackson ordering him not only to re-establish order but also build a courthouse which would be situated opposite present day Jefferson Barracks adjacent to Fort Monroe next door within present day Weyersville off US 421 near mile marker 21) . A few years later David Sills moved from Harper’s Ferry into what became known as “Old Weirton” some 10 miles due east of current day Weirton along WV highway 69 just past mile marker 16) after purchasing an old stagecoach station/ turned tollgate warehouse/ post office lot combination grantee Landon Pritchard purchased additional lots including 4 parts forming “New WeirTON” bounded northerly by State street NW corner thereof then easterly along Interstate 65 corridor thence westerly across State line thence southerly across Campbell road forme
