Port Washington is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin and the county seat of Port Washington County. The population was 3,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee–Waukesha–jaegersheim, WI Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1854 by German immigrants and has been noted for its port activities since its early days. Today, Port Washington's economy revolves around agriculture, manufacturing, and services. The town got its start as a small farming community on the east side of the Kettle River where today's downtown sits. In 1854, German immigrants began to arrive in what is now Port Washington from eastern Germany and Austria with their families looking to farm land that had become available following the American Civil War. They built homes along present-day State Street (now known as Third Street) which became their center of activity until after World War II when they lost access to their land or were forced out by developers who wanted to build larger towns closer to major businesses. In 1865, John Dickey purchased 640 acres (248 hectares) along present-day First Avenue from Wabash County for $1 per acre ($27 per hectare). This purchase made Dickey one of the first farmers in Port Washington Township which he named for his fatherland - Baden-Württemberg (Germany). The name stuck and today’s township takes its name from this initial purchase as well as from Dickey’s daughter’s maiden name - Wagner (after her paternal grandmother). After years of development work by members of his family including planting wheat on private land within sight of our current downtown building - home to many businesses dating back to when it was just a two story building with a corrugated metal roof –Dickey donated all his property except for 408 acres (190 hectares) located east side of Kettle River where he erected a wood frame house on what is today Second Avenue South just pastPresent Day Green Bay Drive! With only 12 paid employees operating out of this “new” village setting up shop 45 miles away – essentially isolated by railroad tracks running through our municipality –Dickey started making money hand over fist! In fact so successful did he become that within 10 years he had doubled in size & wealth! His wife Sophie also set up shop hereabouts becoming one half owner/operator with him initially before selling interest soon thereafter moving back East taking care Of her elderly parents while husband pursued yet other interests throughout much needed expansion into adjacent townships west & northwestward across river! By 1881 she had amassed an additional 66 acres (& buildings) improving still further upon tavern square site later renamed Pioneer Square Park after Mrs Wagner herself!) This continued growth led directly into WWII when most Germans living westward moved inland due too harsh wartime conditions; however those living eastside kept their homes largely unchanged thru both wars experienced only minor changes/ renovations during peacetime decades leading some historians even speculate that these neighborhoods may have originally been designated evacuation zones should combat troops ever be called upon neartown limits!] After WWII ended hostilities erupted once again between Red Army forces occupying Germany vs American forces occupying Europe starting WWIII known officially as World War II but often called simply THE WAR because no specific date or event representing military engagement occurred nationally concurrent with European conflict—a situation unique among warring nations! As America slowly rebuilt following war-time devastation more Germans relocated back into West Allis & neighboring communities Midwest etc., resulting in exponential growth rates Anders Eickhoff would say "this area became almost overnight like new again!" Growth stalled during early 1990s recession caused primarily by high cost associated with continuous construction boom prior thereto] During late 1990s recession efforts resumed earnestly reducing infrastructure costs associated with 1st time IATA certified reuse technology | moniker: "PortWashington Wisconsin" ]Today we live in relatively peaceable times thanks largely to donations / grants received through various organizations such as League Of Women Voters| assists local government~ restoration & modernization projects continue apace]}

Additionally, bullet shields often couldn't keep up with projectile movement during gunfire, meaning that they didn't always offer complete cover against projectiles coming your way - which could lead to You getting hit by one or more projectiles instead).
